I was under the impression that the shortest time anyone has ever waited for NOA2 was 4 months, but most people wait 5 to 6 months. We received our NOA1 on July 12, so I was stunned when we received our NOA2 on August 23rd. Only 6 WEEKS! Has anyone else received an NOA2 this fast?

It's California. I hear they'e the fastest prcessing center. Appaerntly from what I understand, Vermont is the polar opposite, taking an average of 9 months to get around to approving applications.

I remember 5 months back everyone was complaining about California being slower than Vermont.

i'm at Texas so hopefully those go quickly too.

Both centers are going quickly now. At the rate they are going, they will be all caught up by year's end, which would be unprecedented for the past decade.

I suspect this is to avoid a backlog once immigration reform hits, due to the outcry that DACA created.

Thank you! We're ecstatic. We expected to wring our hands and count days through autumn...Christmas...and on in to deep winter just to get to this point.

If both centers are going quickly now, then a lot of anxious people here may be celebrating very soon. My fiancee is getting his passport renewed this week (the current one is only good til Januray) and 15 vaccinations in the coming week or two. Meanwhile I'll deal with the support documents, then we wait for the next notice.

I have no idea how long we can expect to to wait for his interview.

Hi there ,

First congrats on receiving your NOA2, I am a USC ( Algerian-American) petitioning for my dad. I read on here all petitions for parents are handled by NBC Vermont.

My NOA1 is dated end of June 2013, curious to see what is going to happen. My case number starts with MSC.

My dad is renewing his Algerian passport as well, new biometrics documents....I heard they take up to 45 months to be issued. We will see.

One advice you may give your fiance is to make a copy of his old passport before he submits it, even if he has no US visas in it. It may help, once turned in he wont be able to make copies.

Once again good luck...and keep us updated...it is rare to see "current" Algerian applicants on this site. So this was a good surprise.

I am USC

It can take around 2 months for him to get the interview... It depends on how fast the USCIS sends it to NVC and then NVC proceses it and sends it to his embassy...

It was a surprise for me yesterday when my fiancé told me he got the letter and we got the approval! 35 days?! I couldn`t believe! For a second I thought that maybe because it was the second time that we send the form. The first time they received our file on 24th of December 2012 and denied us on the end of may 2013. Then in july we`ve send again!

Amazing!

All the best for us! Hope it`s the same for everybody!
