Hi everyone! Actually GOOGLE already answered my questions about the departure procedures at Manila Airport but of course I want up-to-date experiences about everything. Hope you understand because it's my very first LONG flight and I will travel alone. Lay-over will be in Taipei then POE at Seattle.

Has anyone had any problems about e-tickets? I know for a fact that the card holder should sign the indemnity of payment form to the airlines office. I already printed out the itinerary receipt and the one showing the booking reference number. Well, it's not colored. Is that okay? LOL.. I only have black for now, but will buy the other colors if black and white e-ticket doesn't sound good.

And can anyone give me tips and other advices for travelling alone?

Thank you so much!!!

P.S

Airline is EVA

The other reply is right by asking if tue travel tax is included since it will make things easier.

With the e-ticket, there should be no problem with the color :) My e-ticket was b&w except for my name which was in bold blue. We bought the ticket in the US but the agency had a counterpart in PH and so they just confirmed my identity and issued my e-ticket. Regardless, your name should be in the airline system once the itinerary is released.

Traveling alone? Weigh your luggage before hand and give an allowance of 1kg as we never know how the weighing scales are calibrated.

The tickets handed to you should be kept along with your documents which is in your arms.

Wear flats and comfortable clothes.

I brought $150 and 2k pesos and not a single cent was spent. Your lay over would require either $ or their currency. The food in the plane should suffice really. Just binge after the flight or bring some snacks with you :P

You can either sleep or not that is all up to you. Just fix up a little bit for the immigration picture :D

Hold om to your documents especially the tickets of your connecting flight and visa visa packet.

With connecting flights, don't hesitate to ask. I was just listening to some passengers on where they are headed and didnt have to ask and just went with the crowd so vigilance and being keen is helpful also :)

Seattle POE is awesome! Haha! I'm a Seattleite :P but seriously it wasn't toxic. You can read some reviews with POE there.

Hope that helps :) Stay safe :)

I brought my regular clothes. I normally had long sleeves and I am Seattle which has 80% cold weather but it reaches low 80°F in the summer. CA is like in the PH sometimes except not that humid. You can never go wrong with cardigans in my opinion. Like if you have sleeveless you can just dress it up with a cute cardigan and when you are used to the weather you can wear sleeveless most of the time if you want :D

*** Thread moved from General Immigration Discussion to the Philippines regional subforum -- topic is country-specific. ***

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Color on ticket matters not. If tax and NAIA fee is not identified as paid on e-ticket, they must be paid at NAIA. As for clothes, bear in mind it's a LONG flight. Comfort is key. Airplanes tend to get cold, so a sweater or light jacket is nice. Usually international flights have blankets, but recently I have noticed US carriers don't have them unless asked. No free food on shorter US airline flights, and they don't accept cash, so you need credit or debit card on the planes (not international legs). Or you can use cash in the airport, and get better quality food.

Congrats!
