Logically the thing to do is prevent the flow of guns to the criminals by putting stricter controls on them. Make it harder for the so called law abiding citizens to sell their guns to the criminal element, by tightening up the laws, making them the same nationwide and increase the penalties for illegal sales.

Do you have any info or links on where most of the illegal guns come from? Is it mostly from theft or illegal sales? I honestly don't know. I only know that whenever something is illegal, only the people who shouldn't have it do.

Aren't most innocent bystanders shot with illegal guns? Aren't most drive by's done with illegal guns? That's where I read about a lot of innocent victims, many of them preteens. If you want to go the accident route, then let's talk about cars too, just to be fair.

Ah, you did the cars thing here too. Yuck. Any way Spooks, here's the deal. Lets define "bad guys" Bad guys are not necessarily born bad guys. I'm sure lots of gun crime comes from first time offenders that may have been decent folks that went astray. I don't have a detailed read on the subject right handy. If there was a conclusive study that covered all aspect of gun crime from a-z we couldn't have to debate anything.

I would really like to see how many gun crimes are committed by legal gun owners and how many are committed by concealed carry owners. I'm guessing the statistics aren't available or they favor concealed carry, otherwise someone would have posted them a long time ago.

You mean illegal vs. concealed? What percentage of guns on the streets were not obtained legally initially? I would assume that number is very low.

If you cannot stop the flow of drugs into this country your theory is useless......It would go like this.... Pedro on that next shipment of coke to NY throw in 100 glocks ..... They are worth about 3 grand down in the hood. The mules will carry anything that is worth their time and money..You have federal laws on child prostitution and it goes on in every major city in the country. Anything that makes money in this underground economy moves. Look at all your gang activity. You make weed legal and that will shut them down ,,,,, These people that can make a 1000 in an afternoon will not be working at the local fast food joint. They will just hook their clients on the next money maker. Guns, weed ,kids, crack anything that makes money flows in that underground economy. You can post all the stories you want about guns from Georgia flowing to NY city. .They still will flow......Only the names will change....São Paulo or whatever major city south of the border that the drug lords operate out of.
