Hey, just wanna see if someone has this problem with I-130. It has been more than 5 months, i filled I-130 for my wife. Priority date is March 01, 2013 and i got my only I-797 notice of action and after that i didn't get any text, email, or not any update on website either. I called help line (800-375-5283) and initially they said 45 days, then 90 days, then 5 months and now they saying 9 months for I-130 to get approve. My file is in National Benefit Center Lee's Summit, MO-64002 and i am US citizen. Now i am little worried because I-130 usually get approve in 90 days but not it has more than 5 months. Please let me know if anyone has any suggestion. Thanks

your case should have been forwarded to the California Uscis center where they go through the approval process. Did you check the Uscis website do you have a case number ? it should be on top of the i797 that you recieved. check the case notice see what step it is at. I dont know currently how long it takes but once they have the case that is the only time it takes the longest. but should not be 5 months thats way over due.

I have a case number when i check the status, it shows " our case can not be found at this time in My Case Status. Please check your receipt number and try again. If you need further assistance, please call the National Customer Service Center at 1.800.375.5283."

You should have gotten 2 notices... the first one says the department has recieved your file and it will be sent to the particular field office. Then you should get another notice from the Field office that says we have recieved your file and the case number is this and your priority date. When you enter your number in the USCIS case it should pull up your case file unless you are entering the case number incorrectly. put the whole number in there I think it use to start with WAC...... it should say "in process" or something like that.

Now see, I just don't understand this and its truly frustrating. How can multiple people submitting the same forms in April of 2013 be getting different processing times?

I don't even understand how to know where my application is. I mailed everything to the Chicago LockBox address as per the instructions. My husband is in India, not change of status, etc. Just straight up, we met working on a cruise ship 2yrs ago, got married and now we want to live in the US. My NOA1 I-797c came a few days after mailing everything and its been quiet ever since. I check the case status online once a month on the anniversary of another month passing since the date of the 797 being received.

My case # has MSC as the first 3 letters, so does that mean its at the National Benefits Center? I just don't know how everyone figures out where their form is. Checking the processing time tables on the USCIS website, it appears that only VSC and CSC process the I-130 for US Citizens, so if thats the case why is someone else's form getting approved and mine isn't when other people filing in April are?

Maybe we should just stay in India...US government is starting to annoy the hell out of me.

Its been 5 months i have sent my I-130 and haven't heard anything back from there. my case is also start with MSC and i believe it doesn't matter what three letters you have. I think people just assume by checking timeline (timeline is a feature in this website, where people put their details date by date). it could be right, you know but this is perfect information from USCIS.

Well I'm a March filer as well and I know where my file is because various senators and a representative have checked. Apparently when the file is MSC, it is sent to the National Benefits Center and then after it sits on a shelf and waits its turn, it is given to a caseworker and/or shipped to the nearest field office. I'm just waiting for mine to be shipped to the Portland field office. This seems to be the process. Very few forms are actually processed and approved at the NBC. They give different processing times to different people, so I wouldn't depend so much on what they say, but I'd follow the igors list here on VJ to keep an eye on everything. Hope it works out for all of us sooner than later.

I field on April too

And my case # msc too

And till now anything done to my case

And I cannot check on too

And I don't know what to do

The question is ?

Can I get tourism visa to see my wife

Because she is ill???

I think if you could prove strong ties to your country, this is possible. I don't think the percentage is high, but I've read here on VJ of some who have done it and been approved and others who've tried and just lost the money. You would think the I-130 petition would be enough to let them know you're intentions are legal, but it seems to be a hard road. If you don't mind the fee, it can't hurt.
