F2A filers waiting for CASE COMPLETION from NVC

everyone please help.

My niece (also an F2A beneficiary) is asking me about AOS forms and honestly, I really dont know what to tell her best. Her husband (the petitioner) income is not enough to support them (my niece and her cute baby girl), so his mom will help....however, mom's income is not enough too...so the dad will help out too. Now, they are all confused on what forms to use. I864 for the petitioner, what about the mom and dad? petitioner lives in the same house with the mom....(they live in Seattle) the dad is working in Alaska but mailing address is still the same with the petitioner and the mom. Dad files joint ITR with the mom.

please, anyone who knows what forms to use?

I guess they have to consult a lawyer.. AOS is very delicate to fill up and its such a waste of time if you didnt do it properly because the nvc will just ask again the correct aos.. it will cause delays..

Hi guys, after called NVC to know if they received aos&iv packages, they said the review will take 30days to know some news, but how often you call to know if there is any news? Thank you!!

Can you check if your case is complete from ceac.state.gov? Does the case status change to "CASE COMPLETE" or does it just stay at "AT NVC"? I got a case complete on the phone but when i checked on the website, it still says at NVC. Please throw some light if you have passed that stage.

It stays at "at NVC" till your get your IL and case is transferred to consulate. So do not expect to see changes any time soon.

Thanks sam, the puzzling thing is that the NVC lady that answered the call said the case has already been transffered to the local consulate in Nigeria. I was thinking an IL comes before NVC will transfer to the local consulate. I am confused! Please throw more light if you know

It will change to "In transit" when they have actually sent out the package to the consulate. It took about two weeks from I/L for the CEAC to change to In transit in my case. So you need to wait for I/L first and until then it will say "At NVC".

from what i see in this forum, yes there is which is today 19th i.e. you will get IL end of February for April interview if you get cc before 19th, otherwise you will get IL end of March for May interview.

However, when i called NVC they say there is no cutoff.

Well, that is weird but if it's true in any way, then you should be happy. It took mine two weeks after they set up an interview to change the status to "In Transit". So if they truly sent your case to consulate, you'll see that change soon.
