Hi MJSAM, I m nt aware of any kind of VFS fee, neither my attorney nor NVC/embassy has informed me so far about this.

Even i dont hav vaccination report, the panel physician asked me about previous immunization or medical complications, I told them all (i dnt have any complication so far). They gave me shots of Tdap n MMR (everyone gets this for sure).

The basic fee they asked is 2330 ( physical examination + X ray + Blood test ), rest u hv to buy the vaccine ur self (whatever ur panel physician prescribes u)

The process was quite fast n smooth. It hardly took an hour.

after 8 days they asked me to collect the report.

Thanks So much !!!! idea9dv.gif

I think the only way to get a real answer is to call the US consulate in London and Nigeria. It's a very specific scenario that they'd be the most knowledgable for. For what its worth, I don't think I'd start the whole petition all over again if I were you. I'd probably do whatever it takes to move the one I already have forward because the timeline of the visa process is unpredictable and might be different (slower) in the future. I also wouldn't want to waste the time and money I put into it already. smile.png Good luck!

Thanks guys i called twice again today and i'm made to understand that i can have my wife interview in London provided i write NVC to change my son case to follow to join and after my wife interview in London then he can do his own in Nigeria.

The ball is now in my court to either write to move both files to Nigeria or write to change my son to follow to join to allow my wife interview in london and him separately in Nigeria.

Hi guys I received another Checklist today. Reading the text of the Checklist it appears that they are giving us a choice/suggestion to have a joint sponsor. The first page of this checklist is standard language.

We have reviewed the documents which you submitted in support of an application for an immigrant
visa. Please review the information listed under each applicant's name and provide any documents
which are indicated as missing or need additional information. You must submit the required
information. Failure to provide the requested information will delay your immigrant visa interview.

the Affidavit of Support. Please be advised that the Affidavit of Support
information you have provided does not appear to meet the minimum
income requirement according to the current poverty guidelines to sponsor
the intending immigrant(s) for this petition. The consular officer will make
a decision regarding this requirement at the time of your interview. In
order to avoid delays, you may wish to submit an additional Affidavit of
Support (Form I-864) for a/another Joint Sponsor to the National Visa
Center to assist in sponsoring the intending immigrants. To view the
current poverty guidelines, visit
If you decide to use a Joint Sponsor to assist in sponsoring the intending
immigrants, please note that you the sponsor may not use Form I-864EZ
and will also need to submit Form I-864.

Here is our situation. I work as a self employed private contractor. 2012 Tax return shows 11000 as an income. Household size is 3. I, Wife & Son. I filled out Asset portion of the I-864 and showed 6 figures in Stocks Holdings (stock brokerage statement sent to NVC). This is quiet sufficient considering the 5 times the difference requirement. Yet NVC is suggesting that its up to the Consular Officer if he/she accepts it. I do not have any blood relative in US. I would rather avoid having a CO/Joint Sponsor. Do you guys think we should take a chance and let the Consular officer decide during the interview? Or have a friend do a joint/CO Sponsorhip?
I plan to discuss all this with lawyers soon. Meanwhile your insight is appreciated.
Thanks a bunch.

My best bet is to get a joint sponsor OR you may post this question to your country specific forum, so other VJ members from your country can put their insights coz most of the time it really depends on the CO of you embassy.

I would suggesting getting a Joint Sponsor, he/she doesn't have to be blood relative. I'm also self employed and don't qualify as well because 5 times the difference is a crazy amount! Luckily, my step dad's sister (so basically, step aunt) has an income far & beyond the income guidelines & she was kind enough to help us. :) Good luck!

Thank you apple21 & Miacarmela for the reply.

The thing is Miacarmela that I am showing 25 times the difference, all of that has been in US for last 6 years or more and is verifiable. Perhaps that's why they are suggesting that it depends on the CO.
