I have been depressed since this whole process started. I believe non-immigrant visa applicant have easy and simple process. Gov. should fix this broken process first instead talking about legalizing illegals.

True, Non IV wait time for interview appointment 2- 7 days at most embassies.

I so agree with you. And don't understand the speed that K1's fly through get to bring their original documents to interview and schedule their own interviews. yet their Visa has a high possibility of people misusing and not getting married and abusing. I know many who got K1 got here and never married than later find someone else and marry file AOS and the government does that ####### forgiveness of pass sins if they would just look and see "OMG this person abused the system". But they won't even bother.

NVC at worst was a 21 day ordeal. The record is 11 days. You can't even get a flippin case number in 11 days. We need new management. Okay time to write another letter to the president. I am pissed off now.

I dont see the whole point of NVC, when USCIS approves the petition especially for Immediate relatives. Since embassy has final say on the documents, NVC is really waste of time. Our file took over 3 months to get out of NVC, this is unbelievable, as they had issues like new delay in creating Case #, IIN, billing, delay because they didnt know how to review AOS, and delay because their system was down etc..etc...all non-value added stuff, while USCIS might actually do the research and background checks etc

Let's file a petition with white house! This whole process is a disaster in its current state.

I agree

This immigrant visa interview system is BROKEN! This is unbelievable that visitor's to the US receive appointments faster than us. Unbelievable. This is so disappointing. And then when you call the NVC, they have attitudes and act like they are doing us a favor.

True

I wasn't referring to their computer system; I meant their method of assigning interviews is archaic. They need to revamp their entire system. It's very frustrating.

Frustrating indeed. I think other countries might have faster processing for spouses.

03/10/13: NoA2

04/29/13: NVC Received

05/10/13: Case No./IIN Generated/Received

06/26/13: Case complete

I have a quick question. who does the scheduling for interviews? NVC or individual embassies? who should we contact and what is the contact number? Thanks

The NVC are the ones who actually assign the dates. All the embassy does is send the schedule like what the K1's see and they have slots for certain dates. And the NVC starts assigning.

You call NVC to see if you been assigned or you can call DOS.

If after you are assigned and when your casefile gets to Embassy you need to change to earlier or later date you would contact than the embassy.

TopOfTheWorld I agree with those comments you made earlier today. This whole process doesn't make any sense to me at all. From the very beginning until now. I am at a lost of word on how they determine what's get done first, what is their priorities and what is more important as far as visa. It's clearly not a first come first served basis. It's all random its's ridiculous. They need to change the system. If it's broke change it. If it's not then don't change it. Most will agree that it need changes. One voice or one little step can make a big difference.

You have been waiting since long, longer than most of us here and I understand what you must be feeling. First they did not clarify about AOS. Many sent new one and that delayed the whole process. I see others are getting RFE's which does not make sense at all. 2 cases with same error on AOS, 1 gets RFE and other is approved with no RFE. Some are asked to bring AOS to interview and some are asked to send it to NVC. There should be some kind of process in place where everyone is treated equally. There should be transparent and easy to understand process. Total anarchy and undemocratic nature of NVC.
