I just wanted to complain to try and cheer myself up - been waiting since the 1st of October, I got touched on the 15th and then nothing for another month. I know lots of people have waited much longer, but it's depressing to read all the comments about how great and fast and wonderful VSC is, and then to get nowhere myself.

Is there any easy way to check if they physically mailed me anything that never arrived? I got my girl to check for me and she said they hadn't, but I always feel more comfortable checking myself. She said she couldn't get a real human, is there any trick to doing so? I could ask them to check what the status is, in case something bad happened.

Anyone else waiting on VSC? Tell me your horror stories!

Well, I was at VSC myself and we got approved within 12 days (ohhh, sorry for backstabbing you :D )

Did you try to check your case online with your receipt number at www.uscis.gov? I don't think there is anything more you can do but wait and check your status online or on the phone. Sorry about that. I'm sure it's the holidays that back everything up.

Keep your chin up and all the best.

While we all know it is not a perfect solution, any activity regarding your case "should" be noted on your case status online. It should inform you of any RFE or NOA activity....

YMMV

Strange one there, I read all the time about people having to use the other service center wishing that they could use Vermont. I also read of posters asking if they could get away with moving temporally to an area covered by VSC, just to save a month or so in processing time, (Not a good idea though).

Probably something came up during name check that is hanging them, remember they have up to 6 months to process before they will respond to your inquiries.

Also can you do a timeline? :time: And fill out your profile with some more details, like filling for... ect It helps understand your case a bit more.

Please tell me this is a joke post. :bonk: I don't know what you are filing for since you don't have a time line or any other info :time: , but I wouldn't call your waiting a "horror story" - that would be having to wait for more that 370 days (as a couple here had).

So, you've waited almost 60 days and nothing. What were you expecting? Your documents are in VSC which is by far the quickest center. Be happy you don't have to file in CSC and are looking at a much longer wait. Did you think that maybe the VSC staff might be slowing down because of the holiday season. You know some people, even USCIS employees take time off at this time of the year.

Suck it up!

I'll fill in a timeline, I know many people, especially via the other centres are having an even worse time and I don't mean to make them feel worse by complaining so quickly. I just got my hopes up after seeing 12 and 7 day approvals via VSC, I thought it was going to be wrapped up before the new year and I was excited.

Coming to the UK they have a 10 day maximum wait for a decision on a visa, I just wish they'd bring in a law like that over there so everyone one of us could get our approval. Maybe for christmas if we're good! :D

VSC is usually fast, or faster than other cases, but if you read all VSC filers from VJ alone you'll see a great amount of them actually do have to wait for a while. I had to wait 95 days until my approval through VSC.
