I'm planning to join my Wife at her embassy interview.

The plan as recommended is for her take my passport in with her as proof that I am outside just in case they call me for questioning or whatnot.

So should I plan on travelling on my US passport and thus get a Nigeria visa or it won't matter that my US passport does not have an entry visa if I use my Nigerian passport to enter the country?

Thanks.

It doesn't really matter. You have a nigerian passport you don't need a visa.

Just give her the US passport at embassy that's all that matters.

Showing your 9ja passport when you land in 9ja negates the need for a Visa so why would you want to get one using the US passport.

I'm thinking since my US passport will not be stamped by MMA arrivals, how would they know that I am really in the country?

I really have no clue so I thought to ask yee of vast knowledge.

Go with both, use your Nigerian passport for you will save the $160 for visa if you use your US passport. When there send your wife in with both passports and your boarding passes. This way they have proof you are there. Good luck!
