Hello to all of you VJers,

I just thought I'd share something I saw while surfing the web. I know many of the members here have SO's in different parts of the world, so here's a great deal for making international calls: it's FREE and UNLIMITED (if you have free unlimited domestic long distance on your home phone or cell phone).

Check out FuturePhone.com.

You call an Iowa-based number, press 1 for English, then enter 011 + country code + phone number (or 1 + area code + phone number for Canada). I've tried it once to call my sister in Canada, and it worked fine. The call quality was okay. My sister said she heard beeping sounds a couple of times on her end, and there seemed to be a 1/2 second delay. But it's free so I won't complain!

It'll definitely save me from buying more phone cards

If you are in england try just dial or I-Talk 24. I havn't got the number anymore but if you google them you will find them. Same deal, you dial the number (which is a national rate number - so free if you have free mins) then wait for the message and dial the interntational number you want to call. Hey presto - free international calls. Or 2p-5p a min if you don't get free national calls.

Interesting - thanks for that. I generally use Skype for free but I'll give this a try from my cell this week. If anyone else uses it, please post feedback!

The quality calling to Thailand on this free number is better than the card I was paying for! I wish i would have knew about this before. I would have saved around 500 bux in the past few months :(

wow. if you guys don't have the opportunity to use skype...we've been very happy with the cardinal card from masterbell.com

http://www.masterbell.com/p/info.php/Cardinal

it's 2.3 cents/minute to the UK, and the call quality is excellent. Anthony speaks to his folks every day, and we spend no more than about $20/month on long distance.

Not sure if I trust this enough to try it...you know what they say about things that are "too good to be true." Have you guys checked your phone bills to make sure this isn't some sort of scam? The web site looks to me a little interesting as well...
