Hey ! What do I know? I just assumed you'd be soaking in a vat of poutine gravy for a few days. ;)

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

I want to share my horror story. My case was approved on May 2 for spousal visa. As per Nvc I had to wait 15 business day and surely 15 business day passed by and nothing was on NVC system. I decided to call USCIS after 26days. At first I was told that it will take more time but i demanded that I need answers. After talking to tier 2 officer he came back and told me it was probably sent to wrong location from NBC. I was furious at this point!!! I decided to contact my congressmen and senator. I wrote a letter to them about my problem. Congressmen first and then senator. Congressmen office nice enough to contact USCIS. I had called USCIS yesterday and they told me i should hear something from NBC by june 13. This is ridiculous? Just wondering if anyone else went through same situation?

Oh yes there are plenty here with these issues.

My approval date is April 19

The file is still at the office that approved it, I confirmed this through an infopass

The local offices are sitting on the approvals and batching them out after 30-60 days.

Keep up the fight :)

It took 13 days from when I sent in the last of my documents via Electronic Processing until I got case complete. As long as you don't get hung up with that new I-184 things, you should be pretty close!

Saylin, you said: Nope, I personally haven't.

Me neither until my wife got a phone call for one more document request, at the end of the phone call the FPU(Fraud Prevention Unit) guy thought my wife admitted to being convicted of a serious crime. Then when he got the document he specifically asked for, he then sent my wife an email saying where is the document that says you have been convicted. But we have cleared things up with them, and all is well and we are hoping to get the Visa confirmation next week. Considering they told her Congrats you will have your Visa in 10 days 6 months ago, i would hope they stay to there word that they would have a positive issue quickly. (what ever that means??) I am hoping it means: We will issue your Visa quickly!

Saylin,

Quick questionon I-864 vs 864EZ:

My income from 2012, and 2011 came only from W-2s. My 2010 incomes came from W-2s, and 1099s. This is the only requirent that could preclude me from using the I-864EZ because it says all incomes must be documented in IRS Form W-2s. I am wondering based on your experince, if you would suggest that i use I-864 or I864EZ. I filed I-130, and my wife is the only person which is being sponsored on th AOS.

Thanks,

Bismark.

I-864 is the standard form - one must be filled out by the petitioner no matter what, and one is filled out by the co-sponsor if one is needed.

I-864EZ is only used if the petitioner meets the income guidelines by him/herself and needs no additional sponsors

I have similar situation with W2 and 1099. If anyone please suggest.

here you go, this is all I could really find.

China:

Fraud Prevention Unit

Fraud Prevention Unit of the U.S. Consulate General Guangzhou is an integral part of the consular section. We welcome any information that will help us to develop information relevant to visa or passport fraud. Please note that the information provided must be verifiable.

Colombia:

Welcome and Warnings

Welcome to the Fraud Prevention Unit’s webpage. The Fraud Prevention Unit works closely with the American Citizen Services Unit, the Immigrant Visa Unit, the Nonimmigrant Visa Unit, the Department of State's Bureau of Diplomatic Security, the Department of Homeland Security and Colombian law enforcement agencies to aggressively pursue fraud cases, referring individuals as appropriate for prosecution under U.S. and/or Colombian law. The consequences of fraud are serious. If you commit fraud not only will you lose the benefit you are seeking, but you may pay large fines and could even go to jail. Committing fraud can also make you permanently ineligible for a visa.
