My buddy is at 6.1 months, received a minor RFE, we fixed it yesterday, he should be done soon. Good news is that they are working on everything.

In Arizona its hot hot hot.

I am still stuck in the black hole . (sept 12) But yesterday I called customer service and talked to tier 2 employee this was the first time they were not rude with their answers. That was my third call to tier 2 and I have spent many hours on hold. It was nice to be treated well, I give credit to Tyler Durdens tireless effort to bring to light the travesty of DACA filers being put ahead of Americn citizens. I think without his report we would all be still waiting

Yea its nuts how they VSC can be 5 months and then suddenly 7.5 months when they are processing october 15th..

At least your with CSC so you probably wont have a long wait - fingers crossed

"Lies, damned lies, and statistics" is a phrase describing the persuasive power of numbers, particularly the use of statistics to bolster weak arguments. The term was popularised in the United States by Mark Twain (among others), who attributed it to the 19th-century British Prime Minister Benjamin Disraeli (1804–1881) From Wikipedia

It appears to me to be simple manipulation, a fraud.

Take hundreds of couples unprocessed at 8 months and then squeeze in a certain number ahead of those at 8 months and voila: the average processing time: 5 months.

I'll call it as it appears: a fraud to make the numbers look good

If you still check the graph version on Your Case Status, it still says "5.5 months". Vermont is falling further behind and it's just not good enough. I urge EVERYONE to contact their officials about these delays. It is -not fair- in any shape or form that CSC is processing January and VSC is still stuck on October. The gap has never been so big. If Vermont still have more cases, they need to send them back to balance the workload. They need to be balanced.

Please don't take this the wrong way, because I do sympathize with your plight and completely understand, but just 6 weeks ago, Vermont had gotten to 5 months on the website and California was showing a date of July 18. That is a full month more of a gap then VSC is currently seeing. I still agree that when they go beyond 5 months processing times (either VSC or CSC) there should be an active campaign pushing back to let them know that it's not right.

I seriously doubt that the problem is VSC having too many K-1 cases vs. CSC. If that were the case, they'd be coming out with approvals at the same pace yet falling behind. This isn't what has happened at any point recently. What seems to happen is prioritizing at the specific centers gets shiffted away from the k-1 and onto something else for periods of time. This to me seems a crazy way to do things. They have enough data to figure out the average flow of each type of application going through the system and they should have a set number of adjudicators working each type at all times to keep a steady flow. This doesn't seem to be what they do and this seems to be (at least to me) the crux of the problem with approvals.

Well great news for all your CSC people out there, but I do agree with everyone. They need to find a way to balance both centers and get them working at the same speed. It is a little disheartening to see people who petitioned the same time as you or later and be approved. Though just have to keep the spirits high and keep on forging ahead for our futures with the ones we love. Best of luck to all, and lets all hope none have any complications with the process.

The processing time on the website doesn't matter. CSC said July 18th for months. CSC has been ahead of VSC for a while now, pumping out approvals while VSC has continually got slower. Vermont is processing October/November and Cali is processing January. That is the biggest gap. Even when CSC stopped in July, VSC were only on August/September. It is lop sided and completely unfair.

The website figures don't matter, what petitions they ARE actually doing is what matters. And VSC are nowhere near done with 2012 and won't be for the foreseeable future.

Anyone else notice that the tick up in approvals started in April and that was when they started getting through the July cases and start in August, and that the website update is showing a date of March 31 with a status of 5 months? That in itself is a complete and utter lie. They were nowhere close to 5 months on March 31. They have gotten in there since then arguably, and are likely there at this point, but the update says it's specifically for March 31 and they were a good 8 months behind at that point.

Gotta love the (in)consistency of USCIS

The website figures don't matter, what petitions they ARE actually doing is what matters. And VSC are nowhere near done with 2012 and won't be for the foreseeable future.

The processing time on the website does matter because when you are outside of it, you can't do anything to help jump start your case. You are 100% helpless. Once they get that updated timeline, you can then file to get your case looked at.

As for your August vs July theory, that's pretty much Hogwash. I understand that VSC has slowed and they do need to pick it up, but CSC was stating July 18 for months because they weren't adjudicating any cases at all. While CSC was still stuck in July and not moving forward, VSC did move forward and got to October before CSC even moved. CSC picked up at the end of March and sped through adjudications through the month at an unprecedented pace.

I guess my whole point here is that comparing the two is a fruitless task, they operate separately and each have their up and down times. Neither one is favored more or less than the other, it's all in the timing of your case and some luck of the draw. The whole system needs to be fixed, but honestly, it's just funny how people's perspectives change through the course of things. I saw so many CSC people complaining about why VSC was moving and they weren't just a few months ago, now the tide has turned and VSC people are complaining that they aren't moving but CSC is. It's all cyclical, and if you let it, it will drive you absolutely insane.

They probably were at an average of 5 months. They left all of the July/August filers and went crazy on December petitions to balance the numbers. It's all about the numbers.

They didn't do that skip until April, that is why it's messed up, because it says the update is through March 31. They didn't kick into gear until April

http://www.visajourney.com/timeline/monthly_filers.php?form=1&visa=1&scenter=1&option=1&sortby=2

That link should take you to approvals on Igor's List. Scan through there and look at the dates. Look specifically for March approvals. There are barely a handful throughout the whole list.

Yes they are at the 5 month mark from April because of the way they jumped around, but not March 31.

I'm not complaining, because stating 5 months means people can file official complaints and maybe get their cases looked at that are past the 5 month mark now instead of sitting in that black hole hearing about the July 18 date as they have been for the past 4-5 months. I just think it's funny that they are making that 5 month claim from that particular update point.

Completely agree with UK-USA-K1. I'm overjoyed to see that 5 month posted time NOT because it's reality (it may be but it's incorrectly and deceitfully calculated), but rather because it means HELP IS AVAILABLE for those people left behind. Until now, even August filers could not get any help from their congressional representatives because of the stupid July 18, 2012 stuck date. Now they have something to force their case to be looked at.

I am sorry for VSC people that VSC is slower now. Make noise, send letters, faxes, emails -- I don't know if people realize how MUCH of a fuss we (CSC people) made at the beginning of April: I know over 50 people (and very likely more silent lurkers) just from VJ sent snail mail letters and emails to the director of CSC as well as the Ombudsman and senators. No one is stopping you from doing that, and in fact many of us will support you if you do!

I've been stuck waiting since my NOA1 on August 27, 2012. We received no RFE & contacting representatives didn't help. So I just had to wait until the processing times were updated & just hope that CSC would FINALLY change the July 18th date. After obsessively refreshing the processing times page every hour for the past few months, I was finally able to call customer service yesterday and open a request. The service rep was so much friendlier than anyone I had spoken with in the past & told me that I should hear within 15 days. But instead, we were approved LAST NIGHT!!! It could have been a coincidence or it could have been because of the request, but after almost 9 months of waiting, I am just so happy we can move on to the next step. My only advice to others who get stuck on this step for much longer than they expect is keep an eye on the processing times and keep telling yourself that they will have to process your file eventually. Good luck to everyone!

Agreed ! You VSC folks should get into the same crazy mail/email campaign as we did at the beginning of april to get things moving. It has worked for us (because i surely believe that nothing would have changed if we didn't do so....) and it may take some time but it will eventually work.

And trust me if CSC goes back into that snail pace again, CSC people will continue harassing them!

Congrats, I can't imagine how frustrating it must have been waiting for the site to update. I'm glad you got your approval whether it was a coincidence or not, it worked and now you can move on to the next stage and hopefully have a smoother time of it
