It doesn't make sense does it ,if one of them can pick up speed to 5 months I'm more than sure both of them can??.although alot from California seem to be getting their noa2 before the 5 month Mark.although it's exciting.it makes me nervous how they seem to be jumping from one month to another

It's like they completely switched roles ! Yes it is good news for me but I feel bad for you guys are Vermont thinking they were keeping at the 5 month Mark now they at 7 .fingers crossed they pick up and they both at 5 months .you saw how quickly california did it.which makes it annoying in a way because it shows they can work alot quicker when they want to.I'm not getting my hopes up too much incase it changes again.as I said it is good news for California but it makes me angry how they make people wait.I'm one of the lucky ones I guess me and my fiance have only been apart a month as he was living in uk up til then and I can already see how it can be stressful so Lord knows how some of the other people feel who have already been waiting 7 months and up

Now's the scary time. Vermont worked hard to get into the 5 month category, then shortly thereafter they got behind again. I hope for everyone's sake that Vermont kicks into gear and California keeps up the good work.

I know that both centers doing good isn't all that likely at this time with all the caseload they have, but still holding out hope that they get it straight sooner rather than later

If you still check the graph version on Your Case Status, it still says "5.5 months". Vermont is falling further behind and it's just not good enough. I urge EVERYONE to contact their officials about these delays. It is -not fair- in any shape or form that CSC is processing January and VSC is still stuck on October. The gap has never been so big. If Vermont still have more cases, they need to send them back to balance the workload. They need to be balanced.

Really hope all the service centers would approve clear I-129F petitions in a few months.

BTW, i think California was still in coma in March. (It woke up suddenly in the 3rd week of April.)

It's kind of understandable to state 5 months processing time now, mid-May, but how is it possible as of March 31?

CSC processing rate in March seemed not so different from February in my eyes.

Wonder how many cases were processed ... the "National Processing Volumes and Trends" chart isn't updated to show March data.

In February, CSC completion was 420 and 14,200 pending.

PS. It might be a manifest of "resolution" to get back to 5 months.

I thought I read somewhere that they hired a hundred or so adjudicators to catch up with the huge backlog?

That could be the reason for the sudden surge in January filers getting NOA2's.

I hope that's the truth, but who knows why they've decided to speed up processing.

The best news about this is that the CSC can no longer use "July 18th" as their standard processing "blah blah blah" excuse date when people call. If people have been waiting longer than 5 months, which many people have, they will be able to file service requests. I know there are a lot of people who are still stuck in that black hole, even if it is getting smaller. No one should have to wait that long, and no one should have been left behind while hundreds of people ahead of them were processed. I'm glad that these people will be able to take action now, because a lot of congressmen/women just abide by whatever lines USCIS feeds them- which has been "July 18th" since shortly after I filed. And I'm approaching 5 months myself.

It does suck that they can't get both centers working at a consistent rate; but anyone who looked into this site when putting their petitions together pretty much knew it was a ####### shoot as to which center would be processing faster at any given time. I figured it was just to be expected. However, I don't think anyone expected the huge cluster that the backlog ended up turning into at both centers, and I'm just thankful that it's finally clearing out and they are both moving at a somewhat regular pace now. I think it's when they keep people in the dark that it's the worst. Denying that there's a backlog or problem, not letting people know realistically how long things will take, not updating the website with information- that's cruel. Not that anyone would be HAPPY to wait 7-8 months, but I think they'd be much likelier to be accepting of it if they knew what they were getting into up front, with honest answers and transparency from the USCIS.

I think the long and short of it is, no one will ever know what goes on with the service centers. They switch and change so many times. What's fast now will be slow in 5 months. Vermont may process at 5 months come October/November, and California may freeze again when they hit July. There is no rhyme or reason when it comes to USCIS and they just switch the problem from one SC to the next, penalizing one lot of filers at any given time. As I've said before, I don't believe it to be coincidence at all that there's only ever one "fast" one. If VSC gets a huge backlog, it stands to reason that they'll probably boom through at some point months down the line, and CSC will slow down again and probably get their own backlog, and vice versa. You just can't try to predict anymore.
