Ok what is the likely hood of a K-1 petition getting approved {and yes I have read up on 1 case that was denied and they had 2 co-sponsors}, if the USC petitioner is on welfare, SSI, or disability but has a co-sponsor. The CR-1 does not appear to have any case denials of someone on assistance with a co-sponsor, seeking best option.

1. Does anyone know of a positive approval?

2. Should they accept defeat or submit the petition anyway and take their chances?

The CO will look at the couple, the fraud rate in the country , the type of money being collected and the immigrants job prospects and make an individual decision from those. Some embassy are known for not allowing co sponsors and others don't seem to care.

Ok I understand all those things but... I do not have money to burn..! The embassy is Nairobi {high fraud I have been told}. Job perspectives of the immigrant? Hmmm..no green card will be given until after marriage and Adjustment of Status. So that means no job right? So your answer is???? The co-sponsor make well enough money

I don't have any insight on what the outcome of your case would be...but, I do wish you the best of the luck in whatever you may decide. Nairobi is a tough and unpredictable Embassy, and they do accept co-sponsors...but, I don't know how it would go in your situation. If you had everything organized, all of your paperwork in the perfect order, relationship evidence neat and organized from the time you met until now, no issues with the co-sponsors, and had proof of what your income is on welfare, etc., then maybe you'd be OK. If you already have red flags and then this on top of it...then I would say the odds are against you. Also, if you haven't met him in person yet....you can't file anything until you do. I hope it all works out for you.

If you haven't met, there is no point in applying.

If the petitioner is a public charge, how will the petitioner convince anyone that the beneficiary will not become a public charge?

Wait, John and Tracy ... have you not met your fiance in person in the last 2 years before filing? If so, that is your major obstacle -- worry about the finances later. You have to meet before you file the I-129F, there's just basically no chance of it being approved if you don't. The waiver for meeting is almost never allowed, even in cases of disability and inability to travel.

The financial aspect is a separate issue entirely, I realize ... it seems to me that if co-sponsors ARE accepted for your embassy, that should be sufficient for your case if you have one.

I appreciate all the responses. But again I am very aware of the need to meet. Where have I said that it was not going to happen? What I said was God will provide and man cannot stop it! I don't know about all those on here but I know what my God can do I have seen him work impossibilities in my life for the last three years. I put no faith in man. The king's heart [is] in the hand of the LORD, [as] the rivers of water: he turneth it whithersoever he will. Prov. 21:1 So with that being said I was just really wanting to know if there was a person that could be sensitive and may have gone through a similar experience. God will supply all my needs even financial amd the hour of our meeting

Okay, sorry ... as long as you are planning to meet before filing the petition -- just wanted to be sure you are absolutely clear on that.

Again, there have been cases of successfully using a co-sponsor while on disability/SSI, I remember having seen posts here about that. However, Kenya is a pretty difficult embassy so you definitely need to be VERY careful in proving the bonafide relationship issue and making sure that there can be no doubts whatsoever about any aspect of your case. Check to make sure Kenya accepts co-sponsors at all, since some embassies do not tend to. I do wish you the best of luck, and be prepared for some setbacks, but with perseverance you should be able to overcome them!

All I can say is we don't know each others challenges in life let's be sensitive of that. You never know another person's story and why they may be out of work. Also if the petitioner is a public charge why would a able body beneficiary be? Maybe that beneficiary will work, and is a man who knows how to provide for his family. I know we have all heard of homemakers.

All I can say is we don't know each others challenges in life let's be sensitive of that. You never know another person's story and why they may be out of work. Also if the petitioner is a public charge why would a able body beneficiary be? Maybe that beneficiary will work, and is a man who knows how to provide for his family. I know we have all heard of homemakers.

I'm sorry that you don't find the truth to be sensitive enough. I've seen several people in this forum lately that are facing denials because they did not meet the requirement of being in each others company within two years prior to filing. I didn't want you to be the next one.

I wasn't judging your current position, but asking a legitimate question. If you can't take care of yourself without government assistance, how can you care for another?

And please take note that it is considered a high fraud country for a reason. Putting your faith aside, this process has rules and guidelines that must be followed.

Personally what I would do is research your countries interview/reviews to see if anyone filed with SSI or welfare. Because every embassy does handle that different..

I know just a few montha bank a woman from one of the MENA's I-864 was denied because she was on SSI she got from a deceased husband.

I would think the biggest issue is the welfare. Because yes the beneficiary can work at some point the government doesn't intend for any of that money to support the immigrant.

So play it safe and have your co-sponsor lined up when you get to that point.

Sorry, they won't allow God to be your co-sponsor.

OK to be serious, you're looking to deal with a high fraud country, where every relationship is highly under suspicion. You don't say if you're on welfare, SSI, or disability, but each is going to raise different red flags. The ability to support the immigrant, and your intentions on bring someone in as your spouse. I'm not sure if you're the man or the woman either, but the question of if you're bringing in a spouse to support you, or be caretaker for you is another red flag that may be popping up. If you've a large age gap, particularly a woman that is older, another red flag. Red flags are not good things, these are all things that need to be overcome with better evidence of a real relationship, and real future earning potential. Best way to show a real relationship is with a lot of time in each other's physical presence. Something thats going to be hard if you have a limited income.

My advice is to go to the lower forums, find which one has more information on the embassy in Kenya and read, read, read. You've only given your red flags so far, even there been evasive on your situation, so no one can even begin to guess what your chances are. Even with knowing all that, and if you got numerous opinions from people who have immigrated through that embassy, much will depend on how well your intended spouse portrays him/her self during the interview. If they're timid, afraid or evasive, even the best case can get shot down.

Let's be a source of encouragement for each other not doubting what God can do...There is an old wise saying that my mother use to tell me "if you ain't got nothing nice to say then don't say nothing at all...silence is golden." Again all of our cases are different this process is tough enough and if you can't just be positive for someone else, negativity will not help. God Be with ye!

I just don't believe that filling someone with false hope is a good idea. I'm sure you'll get enough of that from others here. Enjoy!
