Good day!

today I got a text from USCIS with the receipt # beginning with MSC, I have read that is when the cases are being transferred to the "local office" is that good or it does not mean anything than the normal long time of waiting?

Thanks for reading.

I have applied for my husband (I 130) in feb of 2013. I got the case reciept number after a few days (MSC). Its almost 5 months. still no approval letter from them.. whenever I check online it says that the case is under Initial review. I even called them and they said the same thing. What should I do? and will I have to go for FP? I am a USC. was born and raised here.

NYC is a slow office. :(

It entirely depends on the local office.

Your service center is National Benefits Center

Your local office is Miami?

It has about a 50% completion rating so expect to be there about 6 months.

I applied through chicago lockbox and they sent the case to the national benefits center thats why my case reciept number starts with a MSC -- missiouri service center

Yes I understand how that works. What NBC does (National Benefits Center aka Missouri Service Center) is keep the petitions for 1-3 months then send them to the local office of the petitioner. According to your profile, yours would be New York City.
