3 injured when SUV plows into Calif. restaurant

AUBURN, Calif. -- Authorities say three people were injured, two seriously, when an SUV driven by a woman in her 70s plowed into a restaurant's outdoor seating area in Northern California.

The incident occurred around 2:30 p.m. Monday in the Placer County city of Auburn.

Police tell KCRA-TV in Sacramento (http://bit.ly/Y1zKax) one man who was eating on the patio of the Mexican restaurant became pinned under the SUV. Two other people were also injured and taken to hospitals.

Police are investigating what caused the crash.

There are some people in their 60s, 70s, and even 80s who drive perfectly reasonably. There are others who drive along at 20mph in a one-lane 45mph zone with their turn signal on and no intention to turn. Then, I guess, there are others who commit terrorist activities with their vehicles. It completely depends on the individual.
