They probably filed from abroad...

I know it's hard, but you really have to stop comparing your timeline so much against others, individual circumstances can be so different, making every petition different... I want my petition to go faster too, but sadly we just have to be patient and not drive ourselves insane in the process!

Have you got a trip booked to see your spouse? I am going to the US to see my hubby in 3 weeks, and that will break up the time nicely :)

USCIS (239 days):

04.18.2013 - NOA1

12.13.2013 - NOA2 via email; I-130 approved. Shipped to NVC

NVC (274 days):

12.30.2013 - Arrived at NVC

01.27.2014 - Received case no. & IIN

02.07.2014 - Completed & submitted DS-261 form online

02.13.2014 - Paid AOS bill

02.18.2014 - AOS showing as 'paid'

03.18.2014 - Invoiced for IV bill (finally!)

What do you think the timelines are for? It is to compare so you can get an idea if your time is coming. Thats the whole reason we are all here... to follow the progress of others .. Most people take off after their approvals and never come back to fill out the timelines. It makes them very inacccurate.

Thats why its so exciting when you actually see someone from your filing month get approved

I have been to Costa Rica 3 times already this year. I have a trip planned in August for 10 days. Probably October and December too Depending on his interview. Costa Rica is fast. I'll be able to make the appointment for the interview and plan my trip around that.

If you check this timeline to the end you will see a point where it says 'Expedited at USCIS and NVC', so no, it was not a generic case and can't be used as a reference for the vast majority of filers.

I have been to Costa Rica 3 times already this year. I have a trip planned in August for 10 days. Probably October and December too Depending on his interview. Costa Rica is fast. I'll be able to make the appointment for the interview and plan my trip around that.

Lucky you... I haven't been to Jamaica to visit my husband since April and can't until time to get him or atleast his interview time. Me and our son miss him a lot so it is very good that you are able to visit your husband.
