Wondering if anyone else had this experience. We checked my husband's I751 status online. We filed 8/9/12 and did biometrics later that month. The notice says CRI89 Removal of Conditions. Your documents have been shipped to the address on file. When I checked the USPS tracker it shows the documents were delivered on Friday 4/5/13 to Raleigh, NC. We live in Atlanta, GA.

Could the file have been transferred to the Raleigh/Durham office? This doesn't make sense since there in an office in ATL.

Thoughts???

Thanks Little Miss. Sadly, the government only works 8-5 M-F. Will try to keep blood pressure down over the weekend and will call them Monday. I made a PDF of the USPS tracker page to provide if required.

Well folks, here's the update. We called USCIS Customer no service this AM. We spoke to an agent and then waited 30 minutes to speak with an 'officer' who after confirming information from my husband asked us what our 'prior' address was. We explained that we did not have a prior address and that the current one in Atlanta is the ONLY address we have had together in the US. The officer then told us that the address was changed on April 1st. After I asked some more pressing questions about what next and how are you guys going to fix this (immigration fraud), she clamped up, refused to tell us anything, and became insulting. We were advised to check again with the USPS to verify the package was delivered or returned (waste of time) and to schedule and infopass appointment, which would occur 30 days from now and since we applied in August to remove conditions on a green card that expires in October, the clock is ticking fast.

Needless to say we are hiring a BAD A$$ IMMIGRATION ATTORNEY to help us resolve this issue as it's above my capability.

I say try 3 more times, contacting an ISO, throughout the week.

I've made about 14 calls into USCIS, getting an ISO, and the results have been mixed, all the way round.

see ISO - http://www.dhs.gov/files/publications/gc_1305658440339.shtm for the general backgrounder,

and don't forget - you can always engage the Ombudsmans Office at any time.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

Thanks Darnell.

Sorry for the newb question. What's the process for contacting the Ombudsman's Office?

Ignore this. I should have checked the link before replying. Thanks again!! We will try to call them again to see what else we can learn.

Darnell, you were right. The attorney said step 1 is to call, step 2 is to schedule an info pass, step 3 is Ombudsman, Step 4 is Congressman (Senator) and Lawyer up.

We had an infopass appointment this AM. The CIS admitted the address problem was a clerical error on their part. Someone else called in to make an address change and since the last 3 digits of that person's A number are very close to my husband's A number, a stroke of the key almost caused us a stroke. They fixed it in the system and have ordered a FREE replacement card. We should hear something in the next 2 weeks. Hoping it arrives this time with out too much trouble.

Still no green card. It was marked undeliverable at the wrong address AGAIN today. We have contacted the Ombudsman's office to get the matter (hopefully) resolved. Good news is the green card is in the hands of post office. Bad news is the green card is in the hands of the post office.

Just to close the loop in case if anyone else has the same problem. The green card made its way back to St. Albans, VT. It was put in another envelope with our correct address on it and arrived today. Funny, the green card was still in the plastic baggie and was still stapled to the original piece of paper with the wrong address in North Carolina on it. So much for personal security. Anyway, it took 1 infopass appointment, 2 referral numbers and a small miracle over the span of almost 2 months to get the green card to the correct person.
