Aloha, me and my sweetie are just starting our K-1 journey and I already have a question.

For the initial K-1 package, do we need to submit original signatures for those documents requiring them? I.e. letter of intent, etc. or would a signed then scanned/emailed document be good enough?

I was originally planning to get the package w/original signatures together when I visit in a couple of months, but if scanned or faxed copies are ok I could start now.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Mahalo!

It does ask for original signatures. However, if waiting to get them would delay processing, you could do exactly what you proposed, just prepare to have docs with original signatures on hand as it is highly likely you will get an RFE. Even with the RFE it could still be potentially faster iff you would need to wait a month or more say before getting those docs now.

Welcome to the forum.

Suggest doing it correctly the first time, and not slip-shod for the sake of expediency.

YMMV.

Aloha!

Aloha!

In our personal case we did scan-email printed signatures and we spent the whole processing time if we were going to get a RFE. Thanks God we were approved without any problems, but for my anxious experience I recommend doing it the right way lol, I know it sounds crazy, I just remember my constant anxiety wondering what will happen...

Good luck!

I can do all this through him who gives me strength.

You might not get the same luck as others, so you'd rather send the Letter of Intent and G-325A inked signed and original copies

Good luck on your journey!

Why not mail the documents to be signed or have the person print out the documents that need to be signed, sign them, and then snail mail them to you?

International postage is slow but it should be faster then a month. :)

Best of luck!
