There are people who filed at NBC in August who are still waiting. Just because you're not at Vermont or California doesn't mean it won't take that long. There are still thousands and thousands of petitions being filed. What you can do is call USCIS and speak to a Tier 2 rep to ask if you've been shipped to a local field office. If that's the case, you can find out more accurately how long it's taking for I-130s to get processed. good.gif

when yer talking with USCIS,

the trick for location is:

ASK the ISO when the casefile was transferred to a local office.

Once you get an answer on that, ask them WHICH local office.

so -

1. blow through the CSR, get an ISO

2. ask the ISO WHEN the casefile was transferred

3. ask the ISO WHICH local office

do it, in that order, you'll have some result.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

You are well within processing time, so relax. Four months might seem like a lot, I was there so I know what you feel, but applications are taking between 6 to 8 months to be processed. There's nothing you can do but wait. And also, don't compare your case to other, it's not healthy.

Good luck!!

The last time I asked an ISO that question, I was told that not all cases are transferred to the local office, only those that would require the petitioner to come in for an interview or provide more documentation.

Those that you see were approved, are still a minority.

Out of some 10,000 I-130s with MSC case numbers (presumably all went to NBC) that were filled between Dec 11-18, only 36% were approved by now. And not all in the order in which they were received.

Probably been transfer to local office as everyone else said. You may or may not get notification or online update if case gets transfer to Local office. Call USCIS talk to ISO, ask to transfer to T2 officer and specifically ask about transfer. Irrespective of what answer you get, call again and confirm as sometimes they bluff. Once you get confirmation on transfer, take infopass appointment, go to your local office to find out if they have your case, and do ask if anyone assigned on your case or not.

If you are filing AOS then yes, otherwise they hardly call anyone for interview. DO NOT TRUST ISO as everyone here know that they lie and bluff.

Since Aug 15 cases started getting transfers to local offices and this has been noted on USCIS website. so nothing unusual if your case is at Local office.

You may get RFE but not sure about an Interview.

Hi!! Mine was also transferred to NBC. I applied in August and it has now been over seven months since NOA1. You could be waiting a lot longer than you are now, but nothing is wrong with your case, they are just slow! :D Hopefully you will get approved soon!!! I definitely know how frustrating it can be!!! :)
