Trying to plan ahead....

Hi everyone! I hope that you are all having a wonderful weekend, and that your NOA2s are in flight to you! I'm only a couple of months into the process, but I know the waiting is killing me. The good thing is that I am going to see my beautiful fiance in April, so that should help the waiting.

According to the current processing times, it is estimated that my NOA2 should be near the beginning of August 2013. This is based upon current Vermont Service Center processing dates. My fiance and I were planning on me going back to Romania at the end of August so that I can finally meet her parents, and I can attend some family events. I was planning on staying until late in September. Based upon your expert opinions, do you think that it will be possible that she may have the K1 Visa issued by the end of September?

Just looking for some advice, as we are trying to make some plans, and I know that NOTHING is definite in this process.

Thanks Everyone!

-Jeff

Planning ahead can be tricky, based on personal experiences... it caused a lot of dissapointment to the little hope my fiancé and I had. (We filed on june last year, we forgot to submit his G325A form, we got our I-129F denied in January and here we are.. trying again, doing everything right this time... if I remember everything we had planned, we would be married by now.)

As I can see, our timelines are the same (just with different center locations) and to be honest, we are hoping to get everything done by Septembers as well, but to be honest (again), the best advice is not to plan anything until we get real answers, that's what I have learnt through all this long process until now.

Pray constantly and Good luck! ^_^

Anything can happen until August, September. When we filled out petition in September, CSC was still approving I-129f on a daily basis and i was hoping i would be in the US by May this year. Now i am hoping to be there by September. VSC is approving now a lot of K1 petitions, but they can stop doing that at any moment. I would advise you to start making traveling plans once you get your NOA2.

Good luck with your journey! :star:

Honestly I don't see why you wouldn't go to Romania to be with your fiancee and her family. As far as I know K1 visa is valid for 6 months and within this period the foreign fiance has to enter the USA. Once they do it, you have 90 days to get married. So if she gets her visa issued in August (which I wish for both of you to happen) it's fine and who knows, maybe you can plan the trip together and fly to the US together! :)

No, if you're estimation is that you'll get your NOA2 in August.....there's now way she'll get the visa in September....it's usually 2-3 months after NOA2.

I believe we will get NOA2 at the end of July.

I have to go in August no matter what so I can meet her parents, and seek her dads blessing. So I am going in August no matter what. Was just wondering if I should plan to stay until end of September (as I can work from anywhere I have internet connection), or if I should cut it shorter and go back once we get the interview date, etc.

We have been very open with each other since the beginning. It's hard to be very secretive being 11000 miles apart.

If I were you I'd plan on staying till the end of September, if it's not a problem for your work. If VSC stays on track and you get no RFE's than getting NOA2 by late July or August is possible. Also, Bucharest has a pretty solid history of 6-8 weeks between NOA2 and the interview if you look on the timelines. So, an interview may fall right into your visit.

Now the bad news ... anything can change at a moments notice. So, if you plan anything, make sure there is also a plan to change everything.

Finally, you are a lot closer than 11,000 miles. I'm only 6,250 miles away from Iasi and I'm in California. :P

NOA1 - 8/24/2012

NOA2 - 3/18/2013 Only took 207 days at CSC

Do not make any plans involving the visa until it is in your hand. If you are trying to determine if it is possible she could return with you...don't. If you want to plan a visit at that time, go ahead and do so. Do not expect anything else except a wonderful visit.
