Comments : Awful! Horrible! A real nightmare!
When we got off the plane, all visitors were kept in a corridor for at least 10 minutes and we had no idea why. Then, when they let us go I understood. There was at least 400 people packed like sardines in lines. Officers yelled non-stop saying "Step up! Step up! Use the space!" and this way my nose was on the neck of the person ahead of me. There was no oxygen in the room at all. Officers were trying to make things move faster and after an hour they opened more lines and started moving us to new lines. This way I was far away again :/ Another hour passed when I finally was next in the long line to go to one of the Customs officers. AND ONLY THEN SOMEBODY NOTICED MY YELLOW ENVELOPE and told me to go SOMEWHERE ELSE. I was sent to a separate room. There were only two workers and one person. One officer took my envelope and told me to take a seat. He opened it, started to type data into computer, called me to take my fingerprints and told me to go sit again. He continued typing on the computer. After 2 minutes called me to take back my passport and said "You have 90 days to get married. Leave through this door". I thanked and turned around to pick up my purse and my carry on luggage. When I was in the door he called me back again to double check the address on the customs declaration and only then asked me 2 questions: "So how long do you know this person?" (meaning my Fiance!) and "Where is this town of A....t?". That's it! All this time the man didn't even look at me and had a face expression like I was some s**t to him. Sorry to say so, but it's true. In the US people smile at you everywhere, but not this time. I was glad he was quick and I could finally leave after having wasted 2 hours in the line!! Then I discovered one of my suitcases (a brand new one) was broken and that a cart for luggage that is free for your usage at every airport in the entire world cost $5 at JFK! I STRONGLY RECOMMEND TO AVOID THIS POE!

Consulate Review: Warsaw, Poland
Review Topic: K1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : May 15, 2013
Embassy Review : I had the appointment scheduled for 8:30 am, but the time means nothing really. I entered at 8:00, went through security check and then to the Immigrant Visas room. I took a ticket with my number and had to take a seat to wait. After about 30 minutes my number showed up at one of three windows and I was asked to submit my passport, copy of birth certificate, police clearance and forms DS 156 (2 copies) and 156K and I-134 Affidavit of support. I was asked in Polish three or four basic questions like: Have you been married before? Have you ever been to the US? (yes) On tourist visa? (yes) Did you overstay? (no).
Then I had to sit down again and wait for my number to show up again. After about 70 minutes the number came up so I went to have my fingerprints scanned (40 seconds). Thank you , sit down and wait.
After approximately 35 minutes, the number was displayed and I had to go to a separate room (but no doors, a room just like the previous one, but with no chairs). There were three windows as well, but with consuls not regular clerks A very nice, smiling young woman greeted me and asked me if it would be fine by me if the interview was held in English. I said yes I was told to raise my right hand and swear everything I say is true. She then asked me basic questions, she was very nice, big smile, no stress at all. The questions were: How did you meet? Who came to visit first? Where? Did your fiancé stay with you at this time or in a hotel? Did he meet your family? When did you get engaged? Did you visit him? Did you meet his family? Did he have to work all this time you were there? Did you get to travel anywhere? After several questions like this she paused to click something in her computer and then she came back to questions about how we met. She asked where my fiancé works and what he does. She asked what I would like to do in the States, do I plan to work. I answered: Yes, with work permission. One of the last questions was whether I have or have not any relatives in the US and after I said no she asked me if I’m anxious at all about moving to the States. I said I am a little bit, because I don’t drive and she laughed again apparently understanding where I’m coming from She finished with questions about wedding plans and whether we’ll have a reception in Poland. I said no, we’re doing everything in the US. She asked: Is anybody of your family going? Do they have visas? To which my answer was: Hopefully! They will apply for tourist visas next week. She smiled her beautiful smile, told me everything is correct and fine. Told me to sign the form. She congratulated me and wished good luck.
She never asked for proofs of ongoing relationship, didn’t look at them at all nor additional financial statements like letter from the Employer, not even letters of intent to marry! The whole conversation didn’t take more than 7 minutes I’m sure! I left the Embassy at 10:40.
Rating : Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
