Fast Interview Appointment

Although it would seem to be a dream, I'm actually slightly worried. We sent in my fiancés AOS packet and it was received January 25th. She had her Biometrics on Feb. 28, last Thursday. Today we got a letter scheduling the interview for April 3rd. This just seems so much faster than I was expecting. I'm glad, but it makes me almost nervous. This is only about 9 weeks after they received the AOS packet!!!

Should I be excited, or alarmed? It seems almost too good to be true.

BE VERY VERY HAPPY!!! You will be very glad to have that part done and over with instead of being processed in MSC purgatory waiting endlessly with your status stuck at acceptance hoping that you will hear something some time soon.... Congratulations ... really.... its a good thing!

Seriously though how could both of us be processed in 1 day and 1 months time frame? That's insane!!!

How long until we get our appointment letters?

Yes, but the point is do they get them this quick? Pretty unusual, isn't it? We have about 2.5 months waiting COMBINED! lol That's why it's scary.

Anyways, if they sent us for an interview all ready why wouldn't they approve the advance parole or the EAD all ready, why would they still be pending?

Just wondering.

Thanks!

Nothing abnormal or unusual at all. When there is interview, it's usually pretty fast. :) At least a month after the biometrics. Everybody seems surprised that the AOS could be so fast, but I guess we were just used to the long wait with the K-1 process. :P

I got my interview email update 11 days after my biometrics.

Ah ok. I just hear about people waiting 6, 7, 8, of 9 months and that is why it surprised me.

At this rate we'll have the GC before the EAD or AP approval. lol This was really quick though, we literally filed only 29 days ago. That's why we were surprised.

People who wait 6, 7 , 8, or more months are usually waived from an interview.

You may still have your EAD/AP approved. Or they may not approve it at all.

Also filed in Feb and I'm already in the Testing and Interview stage and I'm filing from the midwest so I guess region really has nothing to do with the processing times.

We actually got just an interview appointment, not a letter saying that was coming, they've already assigned our interview date, April 3. So strange. I was just assuming we'd have months to wait. This is good. Of course now we get to stress about an interview, but we have nothing to hide or worry about, but it's still stressful. Now to research a bit preparing for the interview!
