It's very hot in the summer, the pollution isn't very nice and quite honestly if you don't like casinos, tourists and smoke I wouldn't bother. Two days in Vegas is about all I can stomach, but that's my personal preference. I really would suggest you go spend a week there before you decide to move there.

i am with you..2-03 days is enough....also, check out the crime rate there...

Now you guys are scaring me with the whole crime rate thing...yeah I don't really want to go due to the casino/party like atmosphere that I have seen on t.v. and heard about...But I totally agree with spending some time there first...

there has been an influx of gangs and the crime rate has risen much quicker than anticipated...just move into a good area...there is crime everywhere

When I was there last, the waiter in a restaurant went on and on about the water quality issue. I'd check into that as well. The gorgeous condos may need an expensive water filtration system. You'd also be spending tons to run AC in the summer (and fall and spring).

09-02-2005 Applications for AOS, EAD, and AP received by MSC

10-21-2005 AOS fingerprint notice for 12-08-2005

11-07-2005 AP approved

12-05-2005 Infopass appt at San Jose office for interim EAD -- Refused, because it is already approved by MSC on 11-07-2005

12-07-2005 Attempt at interim EAD at San Francisco office -- no go. Back to San Jose, where CSO (chief station officer) tells they will contact MSC via email to request permission to issue interim EAD

12-08-2005 Biometrics for AOS and EAD. Having no EAD appt letter was no problem (used EAD NOA)

12-15-2005 EAD arrived in the mail

12-24-2005 Received interview letter; interview scheduled 03-01-2006

01-28-2006 Received replacement SSN card in married name (5 wks since application)

03-01-2006 AOS interview -- approved; received stamp in the passport

03-13-2006 Green card arrived in the mail

Must agree that the water in LV was the worst I had ever tasted....I wouldn't even make a coffee with tap water ...used bottled the whole time!

Have to admit though...they have a good British pub there and a nice international food market.
