Follow the money - Have they cashed your check?

If so, they have it, and you will just have to wait through the already-mentionaed backlog.

Hang in there.

Good luck!

 See if they cashed your check.

Seeing that I sent my package after the OP, I just wanted to give the OP a response of my current status.

This morning I received my notification via G-1145. They signed for the package on the 24th of February and today is March 5th, for a total waiting time of 9-10 days. I send my package to the Chicago lockbox address. Since you have already contacted them and they suggested waiting 10-15 days, I would wait that period of time but after 10 days I would keep calling them until they can help. Hang in there, I'm sure they will notify you when they open your package. Even though they told you they open them in 'order' they are usually in a big mail bag and can be shuffled around. Keeping my fingers crossed for your notification to come soon!!!

Awesome!

Good to know the backlog is a bit longer than usual. Mine received 25th so hopefully tomorrow or Thursday I get the confirmations..

Yes! Added automatic check in Wells Fargo to notify me as soon as those 2 checks are cashed :)

I've been checking my account every day in hopes of finding that check cashed. I emailed USCIS yesterday hoping that might be a little more fruitful. Anyway, I guess I just have to play the waiting game for a while. I'm glad every one else is getting processed quickly. Maybe eventually we will, too.

Finally, news! (I know this Is going to take me so far from the original topic and I apologize.) Apparently, USCIS returned our application right away but it was "undeliverable as addressed" and returned it to them. Then they tried sending it back again. So for the past month it's been floating back and forth and today we finally got it. Anyway, the reason it was returned is because I wrote a check for the wrong amount.

I thought I had it right but maybe someone can help me. We submitted the I- 485 AOS, along with the I-765 AED and I-131 AP. USCIS sent back the I-765, I-131 and the check with a NOA saying we provided the incorrect amount and to send it back with a check for the correct amount. I understood that if you apply for the first you don't have to pay the fees for the other two so I wrote one check for $1070 and stuck it on the front of the whole packet.

So tell me, where did I go wrong? And what should I send back to them?

If you filed a standalone (no I-130) I-485 then the fee is $1,070, as you indicate.

Likely this is a mailroom error. You should resubmit, together with a covering letter explaining their mistake (so they don't do it again).

This could be the case; however, it sounds weird to me they made a mistake.. they deal with the same stuff everyday... I'm thinking maybe there's a problem with the bank account/bank, or with the way the check is been filled up... Idk.

It sounds more likely to me that the fee is wrong because other forms have been also submitted, like you say, I-130 for example.

It's the same account that I used for the I-129f fees and that check was processed without issue. The account itself has maintained a balance greater than the check amount the entire time. I imagine if the check bounced I'd be receiving a different notice.

I don't know why they would keep the I-485 but return the I-765, I-131, and the check.

The check does have my prior address on it but if that was the issue wouldn't the NOA mention that as the reason instead of " The check amount is incorrect, or has not been provided."?

We didn't file an I-130. I don't know what fee they want me to pay if that isn't the correct amount.

I'm thinking I should just send it back with a new check for the same amount and a letter of explanation.
