The closest thing I ate to a rat is a squirrel. I wouldn't eat a rat.

A good friend of mine lived and worked in South Korea for eight years as an English teacher, and he told me once that his class took him out for dinner when he first arrived as a "welcome to Korea" kind of thing. He said everything was great until someone ordered dog and insisted on giving him the best part to eat as the guest of honor - the #######. He had to eat it of course, because he didn't want to be rude, but jeez, what a situation! He said they also had snake's blood, which he quite liked.

And isn't horse supposed to be a big thing in France? Or maybe it was Italy. They make such a big deal of it in the States but if it's popular in other places it can't be TOO horrible. I mean, how different can it be from the other mammals Americans scarf down?

Haven't tried them, but they look tasty!

I ate something that's been very unusual at our house lately, last night. Steak and baked potatoes. My wife was kind of iffy about eating American food, but her desire to have me cook outweighed her desire to eat Filipino. Back to Filipino food tonight, as muscles and opo are the two main dishes.

Steak and potatoes - that is bizarre

Very bizarre at my house, I've recently come to realize. But we did snack on green mango and bagoong before dinner. The dog kept its distance because of the smell of bagoong, although she did eat some green mango as I prepared it.
