USCIS letter on the mail (No GC yet )

Today I went to pick up my mail and while I was checking, I saw an USCIS letter....I rushed in to my house happy cause I thought it had something to do with my pending AoS. I adjusted my status from a k1 visa, 7 month ago. No AoS transferred and no RFE so far.

3 days ago, I send an E-request through USCIS website stating that my case was taking too long. The letter I got today was the response to the E request a previously made. Basically says that YES your case is taking too long cause they needed to make an "additional review" to my case and that caused a longer processing time.

As I just mentioned, I have no RFE so far, and I was wondering if you guys know why my case needed an "additional review". We had no issues in our k1 journey, actually it took me 3 month and 2 weeks to get my NOA2 and we had a great and smooth interview. My whole k1 process took 6 month (since we file till the day I got my visa). So I dont understand what went wrong.

I just called to the USCIS and they told me that I need to wait a lil longer, I asked if they need me to send something and they say No.

I have an exact copy of my AoS and I don't see why are they taking too long...I'm starting to get worry :crying:

My Goshh... well not all AoS, I read from people who sent their package month later and they already have their GC. I was like

that means that an "additional review" is basically their way to say, sit down and wait

It seems like the petitions that are lucky enough to be sent to a local field office for an interview are approved in a month.

I haven't seen any petitions that stay at NBC getting approvals lately. Is NBC even working on these?

Yes I know a few people who got their GC through the NBC and without interview. But all of them reached the 7 1/2 month and all of the cases always remained at the NBC facility, just like my case So I'm hoping I can be one of the lucky one and at least getting my GC without interview

You are most likely not having an interview. I have never seen a one month timeline for AOS.

my bad, I should have been more specific - it seems like those who are sent to the local field office are getting their interview letters about a month after their biometrics appt.

for example there is a post from uktousa stating that they just had their biometrics feb 7 and already got a letter for their interview in March

Mariana, you are not adjusting from a K-1 visa, either. Your process is different, and results in a mandatory interview. Your total timeline will be 2 months if you are approved.

It is true that people adjusting from K-1 might get their interview waived, but unfortunately for that privilege it means a longer wait.

You should be getting yours sometime in Mid March. The folks at NBC are there because they do not require an interview. For what it looks, NBC is "Not" approving anyone under 7 months. Those who do get a local office interview are the lucky ones; They get approved, if everything is in order, at the interview. I'm about a month behind you. So, hopefully in April for us.

Why twice? My k-1 visa was really fast and smooth and probably if I'm not getting my interview, was totally worth the wait. I could enter with my tourist visa, get married and stay but I rather to do things legally

Yeah Im agree with you! I truly think that I might be getting my GC by mid March (2nd or 3rd week of march) hopefully with NO interview
