I'm copying here my cover letter to my AOS packet. Could you please help me double check I have everything? Do I really need to attach 3 copies of our marriage cert (one for I-485, one for I-765, and another one for I-131)? Thank you!

Make sure it is not a copy of a marriage transcript. I made that mistake of putting a certified copy of our marriage transcript in (it looks exactly the same as the marriage certificate). The county in NY state that I live in would not issue a certified copy of our marriage certificate so they gave us the certified transcript instead. Well, this cost me an RFE and a couple of weeks of processing our application. I sent them a photocopy (front and back) of our marriage certificate and then my AOS application was approved.

Thank you, everyone.

I still have this doubt: how many copies of our marriage certificate should I include? Three (one for I-485, one for I-765, and another one for I-131)? Or only one, along with I-485?

We have copies of our marriage certificates on all three applications. It's not hard to do so might as well be on the safe side.

Good luck!

Thank you for pointing that out. As the marriage certificate, we were given a document titled "Certified Marriage License". It reports the full biographic info of bride and groom (parents/children included), the marriage info, and a statement about the info reported being a true and accurate copy of the information on file with the Clerk etc. It also has a golden seal. Does it sound like what we need?

Yes. The certified marriage certificate is what you get back from the county clerk after your marriage is registered with them. It will have a stamp or seal and typically the signature of the county clerk to show it is a valid, certified copy of what they have on file.

We also only sent one copy of our certified marriage certificate and not three(one for each form).

What if the i-94 has expired do you just send a copy of it anyways or is there something else i need to do? We already got the civil surgeon this week my wife has a social security card number but not with married name because the I-94 expired before we got the marriage lic. back trying to get her on my bank account today! we have pictures and proof of a real marriage also her daughter been in school since the start of school this year they have only been here since july 20th of 2012 we got married on August 11th 2012. so do i just send everything in as normal? Thanks

Even though we are far from each other right now I know you are close to me in other ways, you are always here in my heart. You give me reason to look forward to each day,You are my life and a dream come true.there are no words to express how i feel for you.You are the light in my darkness. There could never be words strong enough to express my love for you but I'm going to show it to you everyday as long as i live.I love you with my body, soul and mind.I love you very much baby.Mwaaaaaaaaah!

Yes it's no problem if the I-94 has expired, just send a copy anyway. There is nothing else you need to do. Don't worry about the SSN being in your wife's maiden name, once she has the EAD she can go back and get it updated.

You don't need to send wedding pictures, but if you have an interview you can bring those along
