Had my interview today at the London Embassy, and I am so happy to say I was approved. I feel in shock really, as it only seems like yesterday that I was looking at an empty timeline feeling like I had a huge mountain to climb. This forum has been such a big comfort for me through the whole process, so thanks to everyone.

For those starting the journey, my biggest advice would be to keep busy and don't dwell on things too much (which I know is hard). Both my wife and myself realised we couldn't speed things up by obsessing over the process, so we did what we had to do, and then got on with life until the next stage cropped up. The second bit of advice is....be positive!! Good luck to everyone, and thanks again!

Thank you so much. I'm crying with anxiety here and I really needed the reassurance. To an anxious person, so much could go wrong and the worry spirals out of control. I know I'm not the only one who feels this way on this forum. We all truly rejoice when someone else clears the hurdles. :)

I'm a dual US/Hungarian citizen (both by birth; Hungarian citizenship verification TBA), and my husband is a dual British/Irish citizen (by treaty) from Northern Ireland. We are atheists.

All advice is given pursuant to the Disclaimer that you may read at the bottom of each forum page.

The guy who interviewed was very nice, easy going. He asked me questions about how we met, how often we have seen each other, what it is that makes my wife so special to me, asked what we both do for a living, where we will live. All very basic stuff, nothing tricky.

This is great advice and I hope more people take it! Instead of being frustrated, my husband and I have been trying to better our lives and prepare for the awesomeness that is to come!
