if only it were that simple... sad.png

We have done so many service requests, infopasses, Congressman intervention, etc etc.. and nothing works. Still waiting for NOA2. Every time I read these crazy posts on here of cases where it took years just to get the NOA2.. I have this horrible feeling in the pit of my stomach because I feel that's going to be us. It's almost a year now for pete's sake.

The only advice i can give you is to just keep on calling uscis every 2 days that is what me husband did. Good luck and prayer for us is the key.

I am still waiting for NOA2. We were transferred to the Orlando local office. Otherwise known as the black hole of despair.

USCIS

22 Jan 2013 -- packageSent
31 Jan 2013 -- NOA1 from NBC

6 Mar 2013 -- I130 transferred to Orlando local field office (which started the whole nightmare)

Mar 2013 to October 2013 no one would tell us where our case was or what was happening. I suspected the whole time it was just sitting in a corner somewhere in the Orlando field office. I was pretty much right.

October 2013 - get congressman involved. Congressman asks USCIS repeatedly about our case but they won't even tell them anything.

31 Jan 2014- finally get NOA2!!!! (we think the nightmare is over!)

NVC

Our case was not sent from the Orlando field office as it should have been. The nightmare continues. We kept calling NVC and asking if they received our case, and they always said "NO" and that we had to wait 90 business days for it to be received. We called USCIS during this time and they kept telling us it had been sent. After the 90 days of agonizing frustration, NVC then started telling us we had to wait 120 business days. I got our congressman involved again, and they told the congressman it was sitting at the Orlando office this whole time (just as I thought it was!).

Ugh. Have you done all the stuff that you're supposed to do when you're outside of the posted processing dates? If not, since you are now officially outside the processing times, perhaps you can actually get some help on your case?

I hope the answer is a big NO

I was really hoping so too. I'm so sorry for any of you that are still waiting. :(

If you've tried the congressman escalate to your senior Senator, who will be Bill Nelson. My brother is a rising star in the party in Florida, he's actually met bill and tells me, anyway, that he's a good man. You might have some luck with him.

I am also waiting on NOA2. Receipt date is Jan 31st, and transfered to ATL field office in March. Since then, sent multiple service request, last one as recent as last week. All replies have been pending. I have an infopass appointment, hoping to get some answers in regards to my position in Queue. Got a reply fellow VJers that his file was processed on the spot when he went in for his infopass last month. Not really expecting something that dramatic, but hopefully if the file has been overlooked It will atleast be shed some light on.

What has been the feeling around here for ATL field office?

Ok, just to be clear, you weren't transferred to a Service Center via an email that said you were being transferred to a local office? Man, you must have been one of the last people transferred to the field. What was your transfer date, if you don't mind my asking.

No, we are not at one of the service centres. We are allegedly at the Orlando field office. We were told by a Tier 2 in June that we were transferred on May 18th. Our congressman's office told us we were transferred to Orlando on March 6th.

I touched base with the congressman's office again today, and was informed that Orlando seems to be refusing to give the congressman's office any information. We never received any official (ie email/text/letter) notification that we were transferred to a local office. That isn't that rare from what I understand.

My gut feeling is that our case was lost back in March, and no one is owning up to it.

I would either make an infopass or contact a Tier 2 Supervisor on the regular line and ask them nicely for the physical location of your file and a service request for being outside of processing times. Also contact the Ombudsman's Office and give them every detail of what's happened in your case. You might have done these things before, to no avail. Try again. Sadly you have to hope to get a sympathetic ear so that someone will help you.

What was your transfer date, if you don't mind my asking?

I still haven't received any official documents from USCIS or ATL field office notifying me that the file has been transferred, The tier 2 service rep is saying the file was transferred in March ( I think the first week of march, don't have an exact date).

I intend to call and record as much information as possible about the whereabouts of my file when i call them tomorrow.

jan 14 filler our file is setting at newark local field office since may. infopass results was that our file is setting at the record department still and was told that we can do nothing but wait.

is there anything you guys can advise? please come forward

thank you

Which record department, exactly? I've heard before that cases have gotten misrouted, and then you need to get supervisors and the ombudsman involved to get them re-routed to the correct place. Can someone else who has dealt with this weigh in?

VJ Friends,

Thank to everyone who responded to my questions and frustrations. Four days short of one year my wife was approved for her CR-1 in Rio de Janeiro. I too had a million question, million worries and a million negative thoughts. But, in the end it was all worth it. I filed the initial I-130 on January 10, 2013 and her appointment was January 6, 2014.

What I learned: if the NVC wants originals, send originals. I got RFE'd on a few items because they were copies - civil documents, police and good conduct reports, etc. Speaking of the Consulate in Rio, everyone there was very friendly and helpful. Be prepared. If they want you to bring documents then bring them.

This closes our Journey. It was difficult, stressful but friends, stick with it. It WILL have a great ending. Stay faithful and especially stay close to your loved one.

Cheers and all of our best wishes to everyone.
