K1 is a fiance visa (not yet married) K-3 is not valid anymore now is (CR1/IR-1) which is a marriage visa!

Well the K3 is bascially a dead Visa issue. But in a nutshell K3 is for sousal filings when they file I-130 petition than they send in the I-129F. When I-130 processing use to take years (like 5 or 6) the government created a faster way to get married folk together and they wait together in the states while their processing still was happening.

Now that isn;t the case and now a K1 (129F-fiance) is no longer the fast track way. So when couples do file 99.9% of time once the I-129F gets to NVC its administratively closed and the I-130 continues.

K-3 visas were for foreign-citizen spouse of a US citizen. K-3 visas are obsolete, and are administratively closed. The currently available foreign-citizen spousal visas are CR-1/IR-1. K-1 visas are for foreign-born fiancé(e) of a US citizen.
