HEY GUYS I GOT A QUESTION!!

My husband was unemployed from 2008-2010 so he has only file tax return for year 2011 but NVC is asking for 3 previous years so how do we go about that knowing he was unemployed?

Any advice is needed.

NVC REQUIRES only the MOST RECENT tax transcript/w2s. the two previous years are optional so if he makes more than the required income , he should be fine.

CR-1 (for Husband):
09/15/2012: Got Married
09/26/2012: Mailed I-130 from Nigeria( delayed by customs)
USCIS stage ( 66 days)
10/12/2012: NOA 1
12/17/2012: NOA 2 (case was transferred to NYC office 11/27/12)
NVC stage ( 20 days)
01/08/2013: Case # and IIN assigned ( file arrived NVC mail room 12/20/12)
01/09/2013: AOS invoiced and paid, DS-3032 emailed and mailed.
01/16/2013: IV invoiced &paid. AOS & IV mailed in one package(arrived 01/18).
01/28/2013: Case complete!!!
04/19/2013: Interview; APPROVED!!!!!
05/13/2013: POE; JFK

N-400: (3 months and 12 days)
Filed N-400 : 2011-06-17
Interview: 2011-09-27
Oath Ceremony: 2011-09-30

IR-5 for Mom Entire process took 5 months exactly
USCIS (22days)
mailed I-130 : 2011-09-30
NOA 1: 2011-10-03 (text & email)
NOA 2: 2011-10-25 (text and email)
NVC: (19 days)
Case entered and # assigned: 2011-11-18
NVC Case COMPLETED: 2011-12-07 ( 43 days from NOA 2 and 65 days from NOA 1)
Interview Date(Lagos): 2012-01- 23 Mom was late for interview
New Interview date: 2012-02-29 : VISA APPROVED

Hey Dwheels, hope there is continued progress on the courier for the documents?. My husband FedExed me his IV documents on 12/28 and evn though they gave us a tentative Jan 2nd delivery, the tracking currently states the document is on their vehicle in Mt Vernon( just few minutes away) for delivery to me so I am hoping it arrives today. I just thought about yours :)

OOOps!!!!! I guess I typed too soon. I just heard a knock on my door and it was FedEx with my package! Ok NVC now I am ready !!!

Like another member said, you either send in the most recent tax information or the last 3 years. It's up to you. For your case, only send the most recent. You still have to fill out the question on the form though with all three year's information. In your case, you'd just put $0 for 2009 and 2010 and whatever his amount was for 2011.

My cases got there December 14 (or 10 depending on the day I called and the person who answered) and just got case/IIN numbers today!!!

Sooooo excited!

HUSBAND'S CASE

9/17/2011 - sent I-13

09/19/2011 - noa1 received

3/16/2012 - case sent to my local USCIS office for additional processing

4/21/2012 - AP. If we haven't heard from them in SIX MONTHS (omg) we can feel free to call them!!! Thanks!

9/20/2012 - Interview scheduled - October 3!!!!

10/3/2012 - Interview went well but she must look at his A-file more before decision.

10/12/2012 - I-130 APPROVED! APPROVED! APPROVED!

KIDS' CASES

04/20/2012: NOA107/20/2012: instead of an approval, we got thrown into AP. sigh

11/01/2012: Boys' I-130 interview set for November 28, 2012.

11/28/2012: I-130s APPROVED! APPROVED! APPROVED!

12/14/2012: NVC Received

12/31/2012: Case number/IIN

12/31/2012: DS-3032 sent

01/08/2013: DS-3032 accepted

01/02/2013: AOS bill0

1/03/2013: AOS bill shows PAID

01/04/2013: AOS package sent

02/01/2013: Interview scheduled

US Embassy Lagos

02/22/2013: Embassy received

03/01/2013: Medical

03/20/2013: Interview - was told the boys would have been approved on the spot if they had pics! Errrr :-(

04/15/2013: DNA test

05/15/2013: Emailed embassy BEGGING them to let boys drop off passports for visa insertion. IT WORKED!!!

05/31/2013: Visa in hand

06/02/2013: POE JFK!!!!!!

Just devastated. The FedEx envelope was delivered and it has been opened by customs all documents taken and replaced with 5 blank sheets of paper.

What's funny and how these thieves told on themselves is this envelope was weighed at 1.5 lbs. Its barely an ounce now.

I so thought I was hitting 2013 on a good happy note. Guess until I arrive in Nigeria nothing is going forward.:(

I know I am speechless too. If it wsn't happening to me I would think this is a really bad joke. My husband text me and thinks I am playing a joke on him. So until I get there to Nigeria maybe in the next 2 months well things will just have to sit.
