Our check was cashed today! The Vermont Service Center received out packet on 12/1. I was anxiously waiting for this to happen, but when I finally saw it, i immediately thought "Well, even if I would have sent them the check, the form and a bank statement, and nothing else, they probably would have cashed it anyway". Haha. I'm just so freakishly paranoid.

Hopefully I'll get something in the mail soon.

Ours was cashed today as well (same timeline, packet arrived 01-Dec-2012). So now the "most fun" part begins - waiting for 8-10 months...

There's really no good way to gauge what's too little and what's too much.

Here's what I sent (and mind you, I do not believe this is too little and definitely NOT too much, it's just about all I really have or cared to gather at the moment). So if we get an RFE we get an RFE.

  • Photocopy of both sides of XXXXX’s Permanent Resident Card
  • Copies of the bank statements for 2011 and 2012, from our joint checking/savings accounts at Citizens Bank and from a joint account at TD Bank.
  • IRS transcripts of our 2010 and 2011 joint US federal tax returns.
  • Copies from benefits website showing immigrant spouse designated as a beneficiary for all of life insurance policies, along with copies of health/dental coverage showing joint plan.
  • Copies of our driver licenses from current and previous addresses
  • Copies of joint gas/electric bills.
  • Copies of car and renter’s insurance renewal notices.
  • Copy of our various credit cards showing a joint account.
  • Copy of the original lease agreement for 2011-2012 and a copy of the lease extension for 2012-2013.

Anyone knows if there's someone to sign a package in Vermont (since it says PO Box on the address)?

I sent it with a signature confirmation and it was supposed to be delivered yesterday, but I just tracked it and it hasn't been O_O Not sure if they just didn't update it or what... the last thing I want is to have any problems with this package!

Thanks!

CSC is taking about 6-7 months. But each case is different, sometimes it can take a little bit longer.

They will send your NOA1 after they cash your check, and this NOA1 is your GC extension. You need to bring this NOA1 and your expired GC when you travel out of the country.

Hey Lisa !

I've been watching a lot of the past timelines and it appears that on average about 6 to 7 months total time ( with no RFE's ). NOA's are usually arriving a week to 2 weeks from the receipt of the packets. On that ...... when you receive your NOA it will automaticaliy extend your card for 1 year so you should have no problems for your trip in the spring. Bio appointments look like they average about a month after receipt of the packets. I haven't seen a lot of inteviews being held .... but you never know. California seems to move a lot faster than Vermont ... so we are lucky there. BTW ... where in IL are you ? We are in the northwest corner.

The same here! I just checked and our package was yesterday in NH, and it was supposed to be delivered on 5th in VT. What to say!

We sent with a signature confirmation as well. Hope that the package will be there today, otherwise I'll start to be out of my mind.
