Timeline

U should send u r naturalisation certificate to USCIS(If it is in USCIS)....Then they will upgrade u petition...We also upgraded our petition from F2A to CR1.

29th January 2012:marriage
9th April 2012: i130 sent.
17th April 2012: NOA1 received...
13th December 2012:NOA2 received......
08th January 2013: Case number assigned by NVC
08th January 2013: paid AOS and IV bills.
28th January 2013: Sent AOS and IV packages to NVC..
20th February 2013: NVC sent checklist about our PCC ....
25th February 2013: We responded to checklist.
26th February 2013:Case completed....
4rth April 2013: Interview date...
Interview result: Approved

06th June 2013 : Reached USA

29th june 2013: Received conditional greencard...

14th March 2015: I-751 package sent to VSC.

18th March 2015: USPS delivered my package.

22 nd September: Approved for Permanent Residence Card.

25th July: NOA1 for N-400.

No need to send i130 again.... u can just send your naturalisation certificate to USCIS..

The time is depend upon the service center and your country....still each case is different..

In my case,we completed two months after updating our case...no NOA2 yet.

Do u file for your child before?

January 28, 2014: Production of new Green Card ordered

February 3, 2014: New Green Card received; done with USCIS until fall of 2023*

December 18, 2023:  Filed I-90 to renew Green Card

December 21, 2023:  Production of new Green Card ordered - will be seeing USCIS again every 10 years for renewal

Yes, if you have a natural child living abroad, you file the I-130 for them. They would receive an IR2 visa and be eligible for US Citizenship upon entry. No need for them to Naturalize. Just apply for US passport for the child after entry.

No need to send i130 again.... u can just send your naturalisation certificate to USCIS..

This is wrong. Please make sure you understand the question before answering. In this case, the baby is a child, not the spouse.

Facts are cheap...knowing how to use them is precious...

If you have a child before your spouse become a USC then there should be another petition i-130 for the child.

I would advice to file it immediately, and mention that spouse has a pending i-130.

If ever hubby became UScitizen,and upgrade our case to f2a to iR1.. And base on my understanding we need to file another I-130 for my child to USCIS,and wait for approval.. My question is how many months to wait for the approval of I-130.. Pls share your experience.

Me: Irish/ Swiss citizen, and now naturalised US citizen. Husband: USC; twin babies born Feb 08 in Ireland and a daughter in Feb 2010 in Arkansas who are all joint Irish/ USC. Did DCF (IR1) in 6 weeks via the Dublin, Ireland embassy and now living in Arkansas.
