:cry2:

Ugh, I feel gross. I didn't even have all that much candy last night, but I'd weaned off almost all sugar for the past few months.

We bought enough candy for 300 kids and got...18. The last 2 girls at our door got half a bowl of candy each.

And there was still enough to bring into both our workplaces.

I did have fun though! :D

Electricity is really just organized lightning.

At about 830pm yesterday, I thought the next kid who rings that doorbell gets everything. I'll just hand him/her the bags.

Alas, that next kid never came.

Yeah, the 2 girls kept saying "Get out. You're joking." as they squealed over their haul.

One turned to the other and said "And you didn't want to come to this house."

We must of had at least six children under the age of 1. Ahh well better their parents eat the candy than me!

What did they expect you to give the kids if they were so young? Or were they starting them at 6 months to get in line for diabetes nice n early?

I'm no scrooge, but I'd rather give money to the kids than candy. Most of them have enough all year round anyway, why encourage them to eat even more? It's a weird holiday!

No idea what the reasoning behind this is. Surely it isn't so the child has the whole "my first halloween" thing going for him.

Can you imagine them eating laffy taffy or sour gummies?

We got more kids than usual at my parents' house. Normally, we only get about 5 or 6 groups, but we must have had about twice that much last night. I saw a lot of (to me) shocking behavior as well, with several kids digging their hands into my candy bowl (you'll take what I hand you, thank you very much) and one group where both moms had their own costumes and bags. I soooo didn't want to give them any candy. Had a few real little ones in strollers-didn't even occur to me that they were way to young for candy (shame shame mom and dad). Incidentally, the first bowl grabber was dressed as an angel! Everyone loved seeing my little doggie dressed up in his costume. Even the pizza man got some candy. In the end, everyone was happy, and I was a good girl and only ate 4 fun size chocolate bars the whole day.

BTW, does anyone know why them things are called "Fun Size"? What's so fun about a teeny tiny chocolate bar?

Finally finished with immigration in 2012!
