Hello guys just wanted to share this information!

the house has passed the STEM bill

http://judiciary.house.gov/issues/STEM/112012%20Fact%20Sheet%20on%20STEM%20Bill.pdf

According to this,

The bill expands the “V” nonimmigrant visa program to allow the spouses and minor children of

permanent residents to wait in the U.S. (without work authorization) for green cards to become

available after they have spent one year on the green card waiting list. Currently, almost 90,000

green cards for the spouses and minor children of legal permanent residents are made available each

year. But there are currently over 322,000 spouses and minor children on a waiting list.

I am not sure about how this will work, but just wanted to share might be helpful for alot of people here.

Thanks,

Mahrukh

It does not say the house has passed the bill but just states mere facts about the bill and the advantage if the bill passes. I follow murthy.com everyday and haven't seen any updates there..Also, the bill can't become the law until both house and senate pass it and the president signs on it..

I doubt this bill pass in Senate as Dems want to have one comprehensive immigration bill. So here goes again..political football starts again and we will see more bills after the new congress in Jan 2013.
