Not a very good beginning of the week.

I tried to order tax transcripts online and it kept saying wrong address. So I put our previous address and then it entered finally. To my big surprise and anger I clicked the year I wanted and pressed next and it automatically sends it to the old address!! Without asking, confirming, nothing, what kind of a prehistoric website and service is this?!

So I called irs, 15 minutes to get somebody live just to tell me there is no way to cancel what I did. Great!

I hope it's gonna be that easy. I have tax returns so I'm just gonna bring them. I just want to be done with the process.

You should go to the post office and fill out change of address form, and they will forward all mail to your new address. You can also do it online, it's pretty easy. Good lck :)

We did that but I think it works only 6 months after your address change request and it's been more than that...

Oh, I didn't know. But I would try to fill out the change of address form again. Maybe it will give you additional 6 months of mail forwarding :)

I would do the change of address online again too. I bet you anything it'll work. And if it doesn't, you should be able to order the transcripts over the phone and get them to send them to the right address.

Aug ?? - mailed I-130 packages for both mother and father
Sept 10 - NOA1 date
Sept 16 - NOA1s received

2014

Feb 25 - got emails saying that the cases had been transferred to another office for processing

Feb 26 - got emails saying that the cases have been transferred to my local office for processing

Feb 28 - got emails saying that the cases have been transferred and are being processed

Mar 17 - got email, attached to one case number only, saying that my A number was changed relating to the I-130 filing

Mar 18 - got emails saying that the petitions are approved smile.png

When ordering your IRS transcripts or account, make sure you put in the primary tax payer SSN, and then the address, I filed 2010 and 2009 jointly and my ex wife were the primary, when I entered her SSN with my address and submitted, I got an error, I tried to do it on both 2010 2009 tax years, and it error-ed out. I called the IRS and they sent them to me, later on, I was surprised that I also got the IRS transcripts 2010 and 2009 mailed to me, that I entered online and got an error with, . anyway, you might get whatever you put in online, I'm just saying.

I would do the change of address online again too. I bet you anything it'll work. And if it doesn't, you should be able to order the transcripts over the phone and get them to send them to the right address.

actually when I was on a phone with a live person the lady told me she cannot do that. The only way to send it to some other address is to mail them a 4506 form. And the irs website says it can take them 60 days to do so.

I always want to be safe rather than sorry but maybe I'm overreacting and tax returns (like I always provided uscis) are gonna be enough.

they say 5-10 business days

I've been waiting over a month and a half. Never came. I finally got them to fax the papers to me so I could file. I tried online and phone to request them again so that I have originals as opposed to a fax for the interview, but their system was having problems. When I tried online, it said a request is already pending, so I will wait 10 more days and see what happens. My advice is to request them as early as possible so that you have options if their system fails again. Good luck!

That's why I said yesterday that irs to me is a prehistoric insitution. Nothing can be done on time or there are always some problems
