Receipt # turns blank - Submitted I-130, received Text, and they withdrew $420

Hello everyone,

I am tensed.

I submitted I-130 on Oct 22, and I got text message on Oct 26 saying they received the I-130 and they provided me with receipt number. However, when I check status of case, it says, "Your case can not be found at this time in My Case Status. Please check your receipt number and try again.". However they cashed the $420 check I sent in.

Any advice?

You should get the hard letter copy within a couple of days to a week. That will give them time to update the system etc.

In Arizona its hot hot hot.

you received the letter noa-1 receipt 797, it takes time to get in the system did you send G-1145form along with the 1-130 then you will get E.MAIL.you can check your uscis case status on line,

it takes time for them to enter your case in computer, dont worry you will get NOA hard copy in few days.

what are the first three letters of your case #? I have read from people having MSC(case sent to NBC) complaining also that they are unable to check their case status online. It seems odd cos i also have MSC and have been able to check my case status online from day one. we used the G1145 but never got any text or email, instead we received the hard copy NOA 1.

hang in there. some are not even to see it until their case arrives NVC. you could call the USCIS line to complain though.

I got my hardcopy NOA and email around the same time (10 October), and I have also been unable to check my case status online or with the National Customer Service Center phone number. I called again today and got ahold of a customer service rep who gave me an email address to contact. By the way, my receipt number starts with MSC.

Yes, my Receipt # starts with MSC.

When I called the National Customer Service Center and entered it in, they say the number cannot be found.

I shall wait till I receive hard copy of Receipt Notice (Form I-797)

I sent the G-1145 form along with my petition, that's how I was able to get the email and text message that they received the petition.

How to reach a human by calling National Customer Service Center at 1.800.375.5283 ?

If you are up in the IR1/CR1 forum and progress forum you'd probably know that MOST people with an MSC# cannot check their case online. It may have to do with the transfers of cases to local offices or just due to the fact they do not have the NBC on their list of service centres you can choose from when looking at I-130 petitions. (I haven't tried any other petition to be honest.). There are a few who can check it but most can't. The email probably also told you to wait for the hard copy before trying to check.

However, because when you call and they cannot see your case I have to ask if you talked to a CSR or an ISO (tier 2 human)? If it was a CSR it is most likely that they can't see your case either but the ISO should be able to.
