Has anyone here accompanied their fiance (from philippines) to St. Luke hospital? My plan is to schedule my vacation time around the time my fiance will have her medical exam and interview. It's really close but I'm wondering if anyone here has done that.

Thanks.

Just thinking... why be there for the medical? If you you're gonna go there, go there for the Embassy interview?! That will really help your cause. If you are gonna go there for the medical tho.... remember.... NO SEX before the medical. :bonk: It will throw you guys off your timeline. She'll have to be pregnancy tested. Even if it's the night before. That will set you guys back. Keep it in the pants holmes! Good luck n Congrats ahead of time!!

Typically you are not allowed inside the medical facility, usually due to overcrowding. Children who need adult supervision and adults needing assistance i.e. disabled, elderly, etc.. can usually have someone accompany them. Under special circumstances they will allow the petitioner to come in, as was the case with me and my fiancee.

As far as my entrance to Saint Luke's initially I was denied entry, but due to special circumstances I was allowed entrance and pleaded our case with one of the head staff. I had prepurchased tickets prior to our arrival into Manila, as is usually the case the medical exams typically take 2 days to complete. We started the exams on Friday August 24 and we assumed we'd complete the following business day on Monday the 27th, and fly out on our prepaid tickets to Naga on Tuesday the 28th. Unfortunately it was a National Holiday on the 27th, which I was completely unaware of until the 24th when my fiancee texted me inside of Saint Luke's informing me of the dilemma. So I explained my situation to the guard and brought proof of our e-tickets and they permitted me to enter. After speaking with the proper individuals were able to finish the process in 1 day as opposed to the usual 2.

Just for the record you ARE allowed to be there for the interview at the USEM, just be prepared to be interviewed as well if you come along, like I was. Visa Interview/Approval@USEM 10/10/2012

To the person who blanket posted that you cannot attend either, if you clearly don't know what you're talking about, why post that?

The Medical. Basically no. It's too crowded, and you could get turned away. At least they discourage you from going.

But the interview, ABSOLUTELY you can attend, and it probably beneficial if you do, if you are able!

The rule is you are not allowed inside SLEC with your finacee for the medical, there are exceptions but ... (and for sure keep it in your pants until after the medical)

As for the embassy - no problem with the petitioner being there.

If I can't accompany her to St. Luke, is there a place where I can wait for her? I mean, is there a place outside where I can just wait for her? How long will the wait be?

You can wait at the nearby mall, Robinson's Place Ermita.

The medical can last for hours and hours. Watch a movie or two.

Yes you can accompany your fiancee during medical and as well as interview. Just keep in mind no sexual contact pls. or her medical process will be delayed. Btw i saw a couple who accompany her fiancee inside St.Lukes premises. Hope that helps :)
