As I understand it, the interview fee is supposed to be paid by a check from the petitioner's personal bank account. Not absolutely positive on that though.

As to the cost of the medical exam, expenses traveling to the interview if the beneficiary does not live in the city the interview will take place etc would likely be a matter of each person's ability to cover those expenses.

Good luck!

That would make an interesting poll - but I guess it all comes down to the financial situation of the people involved. In our case, I am paying the visa and medical exam fees for my fiance and that agreement came after a lot of discussion. Bottom line, paying $100 for the visa and $135 or so for the medical barely impacts by life but makes a large difference to his. So I'd much rather it come from my bank account than his.

As I understand it, the interview fee is supposed to be paid by a check from the petitioner's personal bank account. Not absolutely positive on that though.

Never heard of that before - most consulates have an arrangement with a local bank so the petitioner can pay the fee in advance in local currency or in US dollars.

Ditto.

Never even thought about it before. Not a descion as such more the obvious easiest thing to do.

Lucero is from Colombia. The economy there is pretty cheap. After I fell in love with her I would send a little money from time to time so that she could live in luxury. After a few trips I wondered about this because she was atill very frugal even after I had sent what should have been a small fortune in Colombia. When she came here she had saved almost everything I had sent plus a lot more. I wish I had half the responsibility she had.

Now she is here with us in America and she can squeeze a dollar out of a lemon.
