Hi, VJ's

In December I need remove conditions in my GC. Now, I'm a little worried because in last February I had a miscarriage,- in that moment I didn't have insurance- My doctor told me that I could apply for charity care because the costs would be very high ; then we went to the hospital, once there, the social worker said that I could apply for Medicaid.

I filled all forms as single, by recommendation of my doctor, .

We did all those.

Now, I'm really worried because, first we said lies and, second I don't know if I could receive government's help with my conditional status.

Please give me some advice.

For what exactly did you receive medicaid? Are you still "on the books" with medicaid, have a card etc?

If you only received it for the procedure, it may fall under emergency care and so you'd be ok, but the lying about marital status could be an issue, if that was the only way to be elligible.

Me: Irish/ Swiss citizen, and now naturalised US citizen. Husband: USC; twin babies born Feb 08 in Ireland and a daughter in Feb 2010 in Arkansas who are all joint Irish/ USC. Did DCF (IR1) in 6 weeks via the Dublin, Ireland embassy and now living in Arkansas.

It just was for the procedure, about the lie, it was the only way to be eligible.wacko.gifcrying.gifheadbonk.gif

I agree with Nigeriaorbust- at the very least, they will likely look for repayment but maybe more. Do you have a copy of the forms? Just hoping you didn't put "US citizen".

Yes, I didn't qualified if I included my husband's income.

I don't have any copies, and I filled all papers like single and foreign.

If you are asked any question/s about receiving assistance you should answer truthfully and honestly. Telling untruths for benefits is never proper. If your husband's income would have excluded you for medicaid then you should not have received medicaid. Sorry for your loss.

May love and laughter light your days,
and warm your heart and home.
May good and faithful friends be yours,
wherever you may roam.
May peace and plenty bless your world
with joy that long endures.
May all life's passing seasons
bring the best to you and yours!

The best route would be to contact someone and say you noted that the papers you signed are in error and that you shouldn't have gotten the help you got and need to make a repayment plan. What happened could be considered felony fraud which could have bigger issues.

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.

what you have received is emergency medicaid and you should have no problem with it. Don't worry you never receive medicaid because they screened your status whenever you apply by checking on the back of your screen card.

I know that I did was wrong. In my country the people say: " The lie has short legs".

Now, we'll have to assume the consequences, although we hope not to have them.

Thank you guys for your advicegood.gif.

So what. Read the part as to when public charge determination applies - only when a person is applying for an immigration visa or adjusting status. It doesn't matter after a person gets a green card.

The rules are different for people who have green cards and people who don't have green cards.

Read about the five years bar on certain benefits for new immigrants. Medicaid is one of the prohibited benefits.

Regardless of eligibility for Medicaid, the OP committed fraud to obtain her Medicare. That's a crime .
