Getting married in USA after getting CR1

Hello, I am on a process of getting CR-1 Visa from South Korea through US Embassy.

We only got married in South Korea last year.

I was planning to have a civil marriage ceremony in USA after I get my CR-1 Visa In order to get marriage license and marriage certificate from USA.

And also in order to change my last name into my husband's last name legally.

My last name on my passport and my CR-1 Visa is my maiden name currently.

My questions are

1. Can I apply for marriage license and marriage certificate in USA and have civil marriage ceremony after I get CR-1 Visa?

2. Can I change my last name through the process of getting marriage license and marriage certificate

3. Will it be okay to have my maiden name on my passport and my CR-1 green card where as my social security card and driver's license will be my husband's last name after getting marriage license and all that.

(I will apply new passport and new green card with my husband last name when I renew my CR-1 after two years.)

I don't want to apply for I-90 to change my last name on my green card because that costs around 400 dollars because I can change it without extra charge when I get my CR-1 renewed.

I've researched over online multiple times but I couldn't figure out right answer for me.

Since you were married in South Korea, your marriage is already recognized by the US. You will not be having any kind of civil ceremony in the US. You already have a marriage certificate that was issued by the relevant authority in South Korea.

Have you had your interview yet? Have you been issued a visa yet? If not, then change the name in your passport now.

I haven't had an interview yet, having it on 23rd October.

If I change my passport now, what happens with the changed passport number?

All of my Visa documents, and medical check will be on previous passport number.

Will it be a problem?

As far as a civil service goes, what I heard is if you are only married in south korea technically you are a single in US.

If that were the case, then why would the USA be considering issuing you a visa based on you being married to a USC?

I changed my passport 3 weeks before my interview. I suggest you do the same. Your spousal visa will be issued in the name in the passport and the green card with the name on the visa. If you don't want your green card in your maiden name then change your passport now.

What you heard was completely and utterly false. As myself and others have previously said, married is married.
