I WAS TOLD THAT I WAS SENT AN NAO2 AND EMAIL REGARDING APPROVAL BUT NEVER RECEIVED EITHER. I DID RECEVE A LETTER THAT SAID A PETITION WAS APPROVED FOR MY FIANCE AND IT HAD HER CASE# AND TRACKING# AND BAR CODES ON THE LETTER. CAN ANYONE TELL ME THAT RECEIVED AN NAO2 WHAT THE SENDERS NAME/ADDRESS WAS..WHO OR WHAT DEPARTMENT SENDS IT?DOES IT SAY NAO2 ON THE LETTER?

why don't you scan the letter so we can see and also check on the gallery, someone posted a copy of the NOA2. From what you said, it sounds like it. I don't think that the form says NOA2 on it.

This is what a NOA2 looks like. http://www.visajourney.com/gallery/thumbnails.php?album=4

Make sure that you have the NOA2, you need it for your interview.

Caps lock = shouting...no need to shout at us. :)

The "NOA2" is just VisaJourney vernacular. The petition approval notice is mailed to the petitioner from the USCIS and would have I-797 on it. You can see an example in the gallery: http://www.visajourney.com/gallery/displayimage.php?album=4&pid=13#top_display_media

If you haven't received that petition approval/I-797 document, contact the USCIS on Tuesday (Monday is a federal holiday) to confirm your mailing address and to see what happened. You'll need that document for adjustment of status.

Part One: The K-1 Visa Journey:

Wondering what happened with this?? My daughter and SIL are on their honeymoon right now, so I can't verify anything till they got back.

I believe we are in the same situation. When he got notification of the NOA2, it came in the form of a letter exactly what you're describing. I have it in front of me. I don't have the other paper that everyone is decribing, the I-797. Hopefully my SIL has it somewhere and I'm worrying over nothing.

They get home on monday, so we'll see. Anyone else have this experience???

NOA2 is the Form I-179. This form will notify you that the petition has been approved. :)

Trust in the Lord with all your heart

and lean not on your own understanding;

in all your ways submit to Him,
and He will make your paths straight.

In GOD we trust. † = ♥

In the I-797 Notice of Action it should say:

On October 15, 2012, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I129F PETITION FOR FIANCE(E). Please follow any instructions on the notice. If you move before you receive the notice, call customer service at 1-800-375-5283.

For approved applications/petitions, post-decision activity may include USCIS sending notification of the approved application/petition to the National Visa Center or the Department of State. For denied applications/petitions, post-decision activity may include the processing of an appeal and/or motions to reopen or reconsider and revocations.

This is the VJ NOA2 and your petition have been approved and forwarding to NVC.

Good luck!
