I called DOS just now and got the interview date.. Good luck to the rest of us who are still waiting.

I don't think they're scheduling by region since we now have people from South &North America, as well as Europe, Africa and South East and South Asiatongue.gif scheduled.

I keep thinking about you. I can't help but feel guilty about getting my date having been reading your posts for the past month or two and knowing what a difficult time you are having getting them to schedule you. I know I'm not alone, you have a whole slew of people here hoping and praying for you and your family. Now that I have my date I will be directing all earnest thoughts and prayers, good vibes and juju to you and to the people handling the appointments for El Salvador. May they pull their heads out of their backsides ASAP!

Thanks, A&S -- don't feel guilty. It's no one but NVC's fault.

I'm going to come out with it. I've hid it for a week or two now.

I requested an interview expedite based on severe mental health distress due to this prolonged wait and the 17 months I've already been separated from my husband due to his being in immigration jail and back home in El Salvador. It was sent to NVC on 10/25, along with an official letter from my therapist, stating the problem at hand and her prognosis if I'm not scheduled. NVC forwarded it to the embassy on 10/26.

I still have not heard anything.

This is so frustrating and maddening that no one happened to notice that 1000 cases were sitting, collecting dust. I'm racking my brain, trying to think of lessons the universe or God wants me to learn before we're given a date, or what I need to do to get one and it's killing me inside. I've been okay lately. At first I was depressed, like verge of suicide depressed (I wish I was kidding). And now I'm just angry. Like fuming mad, fire is coming out of my nostrils angry. This is unacceptable. I am an AMERICAN CITIZEN and I DESERVE to be treated better than this.

But, where do I go? What do I do? Who can I even turn to?? At the end of the day, NVC doesn't give a ######, nor does the embassy. They all get to go home to their families at night. But me? I go home to my 13 month old daughter. The one who has only met her dad twice in her short life. I go home, feed her, clean her, put her to sleep. I get up the next morning and work a full time job, five days a week, to support myself and her and my husband, in El Salvador. I have done this for 17 months (Well, with her only for 13 months). I'm hanging by a f***ing thread here. I don't have answers and I have no advocate. What can I do?

It's good that you're in a fighting mood. It's easier to channel anger than it is to fight off depression. I hope you have blasted your senators and congressman with calls and emails, called your local investigative reporters, whatever it takes to light a fire and get some answers. I hope the expedite is the answer to your prayers, stand firm and please keep us informed. We are cheering for you!
