The sky is falling and its them damn libruls fault!

DId you misunderstand what the trends are?

The Sky is doing quite well in some parts..... so much so that people are fleeing your idea of nirvana for a "friendly version".

1.9 million left California (including you if I am not mistaken).

It is reported that no such migration has ever happened anywhere in the world during peace time.

Ironically, California's population GREW as peeps from the south stream northward to the land of (free) milk and honey.

The Blue state exodus

Over the past ten years, millions of Americans have fled Democratic-leaning Blue states for Republican-leaning Red states, according to a new report from the Manhattan Institute.

The Great California Exodus: A Closer Look, focuses mainly on where and why California residents are fleeing the state, but using data from Census and the Internal Revenue Service, the study clearly documents that Americans are fleeing Democratic governance everywhere.

According to the data, California (+11 Democrat) lost 1.9 million citizens over the past ten years, while New York (+19 Democrat) lost 1.6 million, Illinois (+13 Democrat) 880,000, Michigan (+11 Democrat) lost 708,000, and New Jersey (+16 Democrat) 492,000. Meanwhile, Florida (+20 conservative) gained 1.3 million, Texas (+37 conservative) gained 781,000, North Carolina (+21 conservative) gained 714,ooo, Arizona (+29 conservative) gained 423,000, and Georgia (+25 conservative) gained 393,074.

These numbers do not include foreign immigration or population growth from natural births. So even though California lost 1.9 million Americans over the past ten years, it’s population still grew by more than 3 million.

Why are Americans fleeing Blue states for Red states? The report concludes:

The data also reveal the motives that drive individuals and businesses to leave California. One of these, of course, is work. States with low unemployment rates, such as Texas, are drawing people from California, whose rate is above the national average. Taxation also appears to be a factor, especially as it contributes to the business climate and, in turn, jobs. Most of the destination states favored by Californians have lower taxes. States that have gained the most at California’s expense are rated as having better business climates. The data suggest that many cost drivers—taxes, regulations, the high price of housing and commercial real estate, costly electricity, union power, and high labor costs—are prompting businesses to locate outside California, thus helping to drive the exodus.

Population change, along with the migration patterns that shape it, are important indicators of fiscal and political health. Migration choices reveal an important truth: some states understand how to get richer, while others seem to have lost the touch. California is a state in the latter group, but it can be put back on track. All it takes is the political will.

Correction in your signature. The liberal would only care if she is getting minimum wage if she is white. If she were Mexican it is OK if she was smuggled here for sex in a cattle truck and paid $15 per day.

That aside, I prefer living in a blue state that is not bankrupt.

California's cap and trade law will help. Everyone will want to move back for the fresh air and surplus revenues.

Absolutely, libruls are infiltrating red states making them first less red, then purple and eventually blue. The longer you perceive that as libruls fleeing blue states, the more successful the strategy is.

One of the ironies is that the consequence of this 'exodus' is Texas becoming one of the top states for business, with the influx of qualified workers and entrepreneurs... It seems these rich libruls are doing a lot of good for the otherwise stagnant economies of some of our less-than-fortunate states....

Go figure!

So why were they failing before moving to a red state?

Wait, you're trying to say Texas was failing before the Exodus? Yeah, might want to try that one again. People have been moving here in droves because it has been a great state for business for a very long time and is one of the most stable in the country.

Who was failing?

Wait, you're trying to say Texas was failing before the Exodus?

I seldom 'try' to say anything.

Who was failing?

Presumably they left the paradise they were in to join the evilness that is a red state for a reason...

Presumably, the consequence of their arrival in these states you call evil, helped such states with a qualified working force and entrepreneurial minds...

It's called white flight. As the urban areas expand, more affluent people look for more of the ever-disappearing suburbia, pushing out the interface between rural living and bedroom communities. If you look to the newly expanded areas, with the better schools and less expensive real estate, that is also where you find new corporate headquarters being built, as long as the communities have easy access to the interstate. Not that hard to understand at all. And of course, all those displaced farm workers become a ready workforce for the more labor intensive and unskilled jobs.

Darn!

Seriously? Multidimensional thinking?

Couldn't you just let it go on reduced to the ever predictable D & R lame debate?

Californian's moved to Washington and Oregon in droves starting with the first wave starting in the 70's to seek work with Boeing. It got worse in the late 80's and into the 90's with the tech companies in the Seattle - Tacoma area starting with Microsoft and Intel. Washington is broke now and it's a liberal h*ll. Californians would sell their crappy little houses in California for big bucks and buy actual land in the rural area's that were still less than a two hour drive to Seattle. First they move into a farming community on an actual farm, then they would put wood and metal cutouts of farm animals in the pasture. No bs. And they "mowed" these pastures with riding lawn mowers. They complained about the smell of the dairies nearby even though said dairies had been there for nigh 100 years. They helped change laws including tax laws to chase out the farmers in the nearby area's. It's a living h*ll down there now and every time I go back to visit I thank my lucky stars I left that state when I did.

California is $16 billion dollars in the hole and will be near $100 billion dollars in the hole when the new Moonbeam railway from the Bay area to LA get's completed. California keeps digging itself a bigger hole, the businesses and population of that state migrates out yet Californiana like to say how great it is there. California is going to the illegals and that state deserves everything it gets.

"I want to take this opportunity to mention how thankful I am for an Obama re-election. The choice was clear. We cannot live in a country that treats homosexuals and women as second class citizens. Homosexuals deserve all of the rights and benefits of marriage that heterosexuals receive. Women deserve to be treated with respect and their salaries should not depend on their gender, but their quality of work. I am also thankful that the great, progressive state of California once again voted for the correct President. America is moving forward, and the direction is a positive one."

Take a large, almost round, rotating sphere about 8000 miles in diameter, surround it with a murky, viscous atmosphere of gases mixed with water vapor, tilt its axis so it wobbles back and forth with respect to a source of heat and light, freeze it at both ends and roast it in the middle, cover most of its surface with liquid that constantly feeds vapor into the atmosphere as the sphere tosses billions of gallons up and down to the rhythmic pulling of a captive satellite and the sun. Then try to predict the conditions of that atmosphere over a small area within a 5 mile radius for a period of one to five days in advance!
