Please help me collect some data about those currently waiting in AP...

Please post how long you've been waiting in AP and why you think you were put in AP or if there are any red flags in your case that are making it take so long (common muslim name, age differences, etc.)or anything else that is special or unique or happened in your case....

We've been in AP for 2years & half. Yes, 29months! Why were we put on AP? I wish I knew. My husband's first & last names are NOT a common name, yet his middle name maybe. We are only 5years apart so I don't think that matters. & the interview went well, our daughter & I were physically there and I thought everything went smoothly but he gave us a blue sheet. I'm having our second baby due any day now. It's very difficult to be apart. I've done all that I can & nothing has helped. From my emails to senators emails, the only thing we get is, 'case is undergoing admin process, wait until we finish' . I mean I'm all for safety and security but why should it take more than 2years & a half & counting to check on someone's case & background. It's beyond ridiculous. I wouldn't even wish my worst enemy to go through admin process. It's just not fair and the lack of attention they show cases that go through admin process is very fustrating.

  • 4 weeks later...

Yesterday was one year in AP for us....I cannot imagine waiting another whole year or more :( I am thankful that we don't have children and my heart breaks for those who do - it must make this process so much more difficult... Making us wait this long is a cruel punishment - I pray for all of our cases to be resolved asap! I've had my Senator make several inquiries and I've recently written to the White House asking President Obama to please help those in Administrative Processing and please expedite all cases pending over a year - I have not heard a response yet and I'm not sure I will. Desperately trying to remain hopeful that something good will happen...

I have contacted also president Obama on may and the DOS sent me a reply on july saying that my case is still under administrative processing. They said that they are aware of my concerns and will contact my husband as soon as the administrative processing is completed. It's been 3 months now and still we are waiting. I am in AP since october 5th 2011, I don't even know how long I will have to wait to be with my husband in order to start our family together.

We are on our second go round with AP. We were in AP for 16 months and had our case denied. It was sent back to USCIS and reaffirmed. After it was sent back to the embassy they put our case in AP again. At this time we have been waiting 4 months for another interview.

I too wrote to the President about the long AP's from Pakistan. My letter was sent to the Dept of State and they wrote me back. Telling me we were in AP and that they would contact my husband when AP was finished.

This is not right - if they are going to throw every Muslim in AP they should take the responsibility to process the cases in a timely manner - and expedite those pending over a year...this is far too long to wait - I find it completely unacceptable - they need to find a quicker and more efficient way to process these cases!

I have considered starting a change.org petition and writing to the media - however, if I do, it needs to be executed properly and with realistic expectations - it would be helpful if we could get as many AP'ers on board as possible - and maybe even a lawyer to help us manage our expectations and help w/the wording of it all - this is a huge problem that is affecting many problems and this issue needs to get some attention....

We've been in AP for 16 months after his interview we submitted the requested documents and haven't heard from them since, no other interviews or docs requested nothing! My daughters brain tumor has increased in size from 4x5 cm to 10x12 and another one growing on her optic nerve 5x6 cm... She is being monitored closely for brain damage, stroke, seizures or death. We submitted those medical records in july and all we know is they reviewed them and then nothing!

I cant leave her to visit my husband and I cant take her with me due to the cabin pressure of the plane which could cause brain damage or stroke and once we get there what facility could do brain surgery if we needed it?"??... we're totally lost and heartbroken. But all we can do is wait and make inquiries... we can deal with 6 months even 9 months of AP but it shouldn't last over a year i feel so broken.

EAbbas,

I'm so sorry about your daughters health. I will pray for her and for you and your husband. I can't imagine what you are going through waiting all this time for your husband with a sick child to worry about. You are a strong woman and may God bless you soon with a visa for your husband.
