RFE Processing Time

Hi All,

I received an RFE on 6/11/12 and I sent all the proper documentation they were asking for. Now it has been well over 3 months and they have not gotten back to me. I put in a request to rush it because the letter I had received said that if I did not hear a response within 60 days to call them. Needless to say, they denied my rush request. I do not understand what would be taking so long and if the waiting time of 3 months is normal.

Thank you!

Janette

Call USCIS and ask if they have an update on receiving your RFE.

They will state a time frame, yet it sometimes takes longer. There are no time frames set in stone, just a goal to try and meet. I have heard of some RFE's taking around 5-6 months before any notification is given, especially depending on what they requested of you, more background checks need to be done, etc. Patience is a must on your part. Call USCIS and inquire about your case status, dont like the answers you get? Then request a tier 2 manager, they have more insight to your case, though they may not have any more information to give you either.

They received my RFE and now they are reviewing it so the website says. It was a simple question I forgot to answer as part of the questionaire. It's not even photographs or anything for that matter. I just do not understand.
