Yeah I've done the 'shack with a hole in it' thing n India on many occasions (coupled with 'at night' and 'crawling with roaches') so the see-thru loo I'd use if I HAD to go (I have a feeling Id sit on it np but then not be ABLE to go, lol) - if given a choice tho - Id use a normal one; but like someone else said, when you gotta go, then you gotta go!

I don't even like using those self cleaning cubicle toilets .....I am always paranoid the door is going to swing open and everyone walking by will see me or I will get stuck in there and it will 'clean' with me in it......but if I went in one of these glass loo's I don't think I could 'perform'

I am not sure if I could resist the temptation to go up to and start pointing and laughing as if I could see the person in there tho'.....

Certainly even though I hate public toilets. At least it's toilet, and compared to what I've seen in other places of the world it also looks clean...

Does anyone else have recurring nightmares about having to 'go' in public???????

A friend was telling me that in rural Japan the cubicles have no doors and the bogs are really low to the ground (squatting style), as well as being unisex. I would be sooooooo constipated!!!!

Not only in rural Japan but everywhere in Japan. I was walking through a train station in Tokyo that had no door over the door way and no stalls... just a bunch of toilets on the ground. I could see guys taking a leak and women squatting doing whatever from the hallway.

Very different, but the Japanese are used to having no privacy so they have no problem with it.

That's what I was thinking about too, actually. Just let some people use the "toilets" in Ouagadoudou and I'm sure that they'll find this one quite comfortable!

Here's a picture of a public toilet in Swedin that's made entirely out of one-way glass. No one can see you in there, but when you are inside, it looks like you're sitting in a clear glass box. Would you use it?

Hell, if I needed to, I'd take a leak on the tree right behind it. :P

i hear you on that....

ya'll are just too paranoid.

i have 2 boys that have a way of never letting me be in the bathroom by myself. I've been pregnant more than once and I can now pee on command (if you don't know you have to pee for the doctor all the time). *shrugs* It doesn't bother me.

And a 2 way mirror such as they used, can not be seen thru from the "other side" so you'd have nothing to worry about anyway.

im with ya on that... taking care of my bodily functions are more important than what someone else thinks of me doing it... its not like EVERYBODY doesnt do it... and besides... anyone that really wants to try to peek at you going to the bathroom could peek under, over, or between the cracks of a stall in a traditional public restroom... and if THAT gets their jollies, then they have something else really wrong with them
