the whole things usually takes between 6 and 8 months... Ours was just about 8 months total to the day of the interview .... and even though we have an interview date the USCIS web page stills say initial review... that will never change... call this number and talk to a person there 1-800-375-5283 but even those people sometimes dont know anything either... good luck

Welcome to the forum.

You came to the right place.

:time: If you complete your timeline, you will find an estimated petition adjudication date. Additionally, it will help other forum members understand your situation and formulate a response to your inquiry.

:guides: They can be found at the top of the forum page. In that section is a K-1 flow chart. Those time frames are an estimate, the service centers seem to be running a little slow at the present time. Check recent threads in the K-1 Progress Reports forum for details. A "guessimate" of 5-6 months until your petition is approved, then another 3-5 months until your visa interview and approval. That is assuming no problems or RFEs.

Good luck on your visa journey.

thank you Tom, is just that i am worried and i need to be their for her, she is pregnant and she already has 2 kids so u see she needs me

Nigeria is a high fraud area, I don't think it will be a quick process. Hopefully if she managed with 2 kids she will be ok with a 3rd. You may be able to expedite assuming it is your child, but I think it is not that rare.

If she has the baby in nigeria, they will have you do a dna test which runs 600 dollars so be prepared for that. You have to be patience, it usually takes 5 months for approval then another 3 to 4 months for the actually interview. Good luck on your journey.

 This is excellent advice. You have much to learn and are off to a good start here. Which service center did your petition go to? This would be found on your receipt called NOA1 when you sent the petition. I am willing to guess you might be at VSC (Vermont Service Center). There are currently 2 for K-1. The other one is CSC (California Service Center). Currently, VSC is behind quite a bit on the average than CSC. We all have to be patient as it is a waiting game. We all have our needs whether it be children, simply being with our loved ones, or anything else for that matter. The good news is that your approval will more than likely be around the corner shortly as long as everything checks out okay. Remember, filling in your timeline is to your benefit as well as everyone else on the forum. Good luck!

Nothing you can do until you get approved, and then you have your interview and then you get approved and then you travel and take care of her wink.gifwink.gif

she has had two kids already so am sure the third one wont be a problem for her, God will take care of her for you okay

Good luck to you

You petition will take about 6 months to be approved then you will wait about 4 months for an interview. You probably will not be here for the birth, a bit of bad timing on your part. Nigeria is not an easy embassy and rarely grants expediates, espceially since your fiance is safe in the US. If you have a common name or are from the north you may also go through AP as they run security checks. There is NO expediate for those even if you get the process in general expediated.

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.
