Hi VJers,

Anyone with recent K1 visa interview fee experience? There was some discussion about the fee changing from $350 to $240 earlier this year, but my fiance's Packet 4 still states $350, but it's a general letter for all family-based visas. His interview is August 28th in Johannesburg, South Africa although he is a citizen of Botswana. Just was wondering if someone recently had a K1 interview and actually only paid $240. Thanks!

It changed from $350 to $240 back on April 13th. Let the consulate know they need to update their packet information.

Yeah, both on webpage and packet info. Tells you just how often they update those webpages and packets. :D

Thanks for your help! VJ has really been a godsend for us during this whole process. We're praying things go smooth at the interview on Aug 28th and then my questions regarding AOS will start rolling into VJ!!

Thanks again for your help, $110 less is a welcome surprise!!

If you have the 110 laying around anyways, I'd suggest putting it into a savings account and start saving for AOS. By the time you're happily married and ready to file AOS, add your wife to that account and use it as your joint account. 2 flies with one smack/2 birds with one stone. :)

Yowza, moonin has a great idea. You will need a "wad o' paper" and a "wad o' cash" for the AOS process.

I just sent in 2 AOS packets, with a check for USD$2140.00.... :o All of that to get the privilege to wait for some to-be-determined time.... :clock::whistle: Ah, the things we do for love..... (L)

Good luck on your visa journey.
